1. Maybe teaching you how to suck eggs, but i recon all of the above pedals wouldn't help you much without new strings. Nolly has a beastly tone
2. she's fixed now, i can see what you guys mean about how poor their input sockects are, i'll look into buying a new barrel for it, thanks guys!
3. There she is! There seems to be three places to connect the wire, there's 2 loop hole prongs and one long one where the black wire's connected. I've also been looking on Maplin for a new socket, but the guys in there talk a different language , am i looking for something like this? 4. hi guys recently having dramas with my brand new Warwick corvette. It's the 5 string passive model The input jacks been playing up, first the 2 leads actually joining onto the input jack unit came off, so re-soldered those, but when the jack is fully plugged in theres no output? When the jack is only half plugged in it works Any ideas whats wrong? cheers!
5. I did this not too long ago I'm now in the corps of army music and we regularly perform to each other. Some really effective solo pieces I found in a book called 'effective etudes for jazz'. They contain some really melodic baselines on some great jazz tunes such as how high the moon, cantaloupe island etc. really worth buying, have a look , top tip though, try and avoid portrait of Tracy. Everybody plays it, see if you can find a hidden gem of a piece
6. looks sweet, i think the price range is about right, bought a MIM jazz bass for around the same price recently
7. hi guys, just posting a thread to ask about if anyones got any experience with music in the army? i'm applying to join both CAMus (the corps of army music) and the royal marines band service and im keen to find out if anyones had any involvement with any military music stuff cheers!

10. i'd always recommend a squire jazz bass jazz bass feels so good to play and you can even get some starter kits i did have a yamaha RBX 170 though, and as long as you keen the strings fresh then you'll be sorted
11. would you be willing to trade for an old Dean edge Q6 maybe? i've always toyed with the idea of upgrading to an 8 string need to think about it big time though, but could you let me know incase i feel keen?
12. upon being at school, i started playing the cello, wasn't mine, just picked it up for a quick twang anyway... the tuning for a cello is G, D , A, E is it not? WELL, i tried tuning my bass similar (C, G, D , A) im amazed at how much range i've just got from my jazz bass! i was just curious to ask if anyone else has tried this, and had any success with it?

16.
Ive started looking at the Hartke Hydrive range, ive found loads of info on these badboys and they look sweet but im worried that it will only give me a real modern, bright tone. Am i right in thinking this or can it do a real nice motown or reggae sound too? i think its victor wooten thats putting me off
hartke's great budget gear and the hydrive series looks fantastic! realy had my eye on the 4x10 i got put off when my local guitar shop said they had loads back with issues on reliability, although i feel i was lied to just so they could sell my the mesa they had on show My guitar teacher got one of the hydrives and he swears by it, says its got every sound he could ever want, best bet is to try a few rigs out and see what you think's best, after all, it's no use having everyone else say your tones sweet if your not impressed? may be worth looking at some of the sansamp DI boxes they have, they're great for any tone
17. ooo ebay is a scary place my friend invested in a G system for his guitar got it and it felt really light, turned out to be an empty box one of the people in the storage place or packaging place or whatever stole it and everything! he got a full refund, but one very fine multi effects pedal has disappeared

Plus chat to like minded folk!
sad to hear you had to sell some basses, which ones did you flog? welcome to the forum!
19. after being in a death metal band, i've moved onto hardcore pop/rock bands and now im playing jazz and big band songs after all this, i've decided to form my own band, where i have 2 bass players, me doing high end riffs while the other bassist is holding the foundations. i've got poppy elements with jazzy chords and hard rock riffs Great combination of stuff and really enjoying it! one of our songs is available on facebook, but its a poor quality as im not great at mixing http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Nazca...149906245040894 like us!
