4.
Get a blender and mix in some clean bass with the muff. Then you can also use other guitar fuzzboxes in the loop without losing your low end. Barge Concepts VFB-2 or VFB1-Jr, Xcotic Blender, DHA Bob The Blender
what blender would you recommend?
 5. i got an LBM pedal for my band as i wanted a fuzzy distortion tone for my bass i was recommended to get it as it doesnt sap out all the bass however , while playing with my band , it didn't feel as bassy is there anyway or any pedals which add more bass? i was thinking about a octave pedal but not sure to be honnest it might be how i dont often use it and because being the only one with a clean tone in my band , not hearing that distinctive tone may give me that unbasslike feeling any ideas? ta
 6. Those certainly are some nice basses reminds me of the people that take pictures of food good photography

 9.
What about Victor Bailey & his Fender signature electro acoustic?
perfect! ta
 10.
Brian Ritchie of the Violent Femmes mostly plays acoustic basses- in particular the old (and very large) Ernie Ball Earthwood.
hes not half bad!
 11.
Jonas Hellborg is probably the best known player to predominantly use acoustic bass guitars. For this style of playing on bass, try Jeff Schmidt. Cheers, Alun
ive heard jeff schmidt , amazing bassist however , recently , hes been more focused on his band - the fist - then writing songs his style is incredible
 12.
You`re forgetting foot on the monitor and "machinegunning" the front row!! Oldie, but a classic metal move p.s. Also spending 3 hours doing your hair then forgetting to tune your bass as a result of said preening!! (true story) p.p.s It wasn`t me!
lol yeah!!!!! must try that!
 13. Agh scales as you progress through bass they are the most annoying thing however... as time goes on , you'll begin to love them , trust me its just something you need to learn really Great stuff for riff writing and solos sometimes in jazz , you'd just get a set of chords and using the scales you would have to create your own walking bass line or something like that
 14.
Legs akimbo, hair over your face, bent over your bass - none more metal!
grovy stuff
 15.
Ok... I know he's not 'metal'
well heck , led zeppelin were one of the best bands of all time , so i suppose its ok
 16. while listening to Andy mcKee ( an amazing acoustic guitarist ) i began to wonder , this acoustic style , can it be mimicked on bass? Also , are there any FAMOUS acoustic bassists? i can't seem to recall any...
 17. what are the ultimate stage moves?
 18. i need the nails long as the ends of my fingers are fat i have to reach right over the bass if i have short nails
 19. that certainly is a nice bass care to share? =D
 20. once i start getting into a song i begin to make the basslines more complex whether its slap bass or playing more notes , ill be doing it however , after a few years , the effects have been becomming more noticable i tend to break or even split nails... then its much more difficult to play comfortably because i get large pains in my fingers , is there any way out of this? thanks
 21.
Man, that's opened my eyes. That's some serious playing. And come to think of it, it makes perfect sense. Most "funky" guitarists use plectrums, so why not bass players? Gives a completely different definition to the sound than fingers only. And that Jazz of his could tell a few stories!
being a finger player myself , pics scare me as i always tend to drop them , guitarists call me butterfingers =P i just tend to use my nails , it sounds the same and you dont have to buy pics! works well with harmonics too!
 22.
Kevin Glasgow - awesome Scottish bassist - is the one UK guy I know who's really got this stuff on a high level: And yes, he's using a pick
your right , hes really technical sounds immense =)
 23. what are the characteristics and 'specification' for a funky bass line? usually i just sit and listen and when my head starts bopping , i think its funky whats the key to it?
