Bands whose live albums trounce their studio efforts
Marky L replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
I was just about to say Ramones - It's Alive Not necessarily better than the studio output, but TOTALLY captured their live excitement. -
Football club do. Drunken youngsters, beer and people all over the place. It was flippin' great!!

Yeah, not a huge amount of space but there is a bit more along to the right of stage. I really like the sound there. (It's meant to be haunted and not just by a bunch of my bum notes 😁)

Actually Friday, but it was a great night at our regular pub venue. Fantastic audience that was up and grooving pretty much all night long. Also my second outing with the 4x10 Ashdown cab I got from @richardd replacing the 1x15 and teamed up with the 2x10 I have used for aaages, so I'm running 6x10s 😃. Need to twiddle the fiddly knobs a bit more but it pounds!! HEFT baby!!

Diamond Dave's entrance at 0:24.. superb!!

Non existent stage lighting making it impossible to see guitar neck
Marky L replied to Stokey's topic in General Discussion
I've applied some dots of a neon yellow nail varnish right next to the normal neck side dots and they seem to "glow" very well under fairly poor light. -
I dig the soft focus.. the focus of lurrrve ❤️

Noooo, not at all!

Nice to see some old legacy gear. Those cabs have done a few miles!

Local boozer gig. All in all great! First half was OK, the second (we only managed a 5 min break) was ripping! I always play a P but decided to try my Ric first and I love it but things weren't flowing like they normally do. I guess I didn't have my "comfortable slippers" on and felt a bit edgy. Maybe that's why the first half wasn't so good, to me anyway. Got offered a gig elsewhere out of it so that's a plus too

I believe their "set up" is next to Rickenbacker.

Time To Lose Those Pre-Punk Rose-Tinted Specs, I Think ...

This is fantastic on so many levels! The arguement about a broken string, and the TV audition are brilliant!😁 Nice vocal harmonizing though. -

Not putting me off at all. It's all good information to tip in to the hat. Indeed, having had a number of black cars in the past, I vowed never to have another! Beautiful when clean and polished but can end up looking like a shed in no time!

I think this may be a "it'll happen one day" type project. Though maybe it would be better to do in the warmer weather.

I can totally visualise the sanding action and the reason why. I really want a purple glitter so I guess it depends on what is available. Make sure the primer layer is good and smooth, got it 😃 I don't expect to end up with a flawless finished article, but better than acceptable is the lower limit.

Thanks for the replies. I like the idea of the spray trigger. Sanding at 45 degrees, I sort of get it. Just don't go straight forward. I guess I need to sand delicately and not just go at it! Slow and steady wins the race.

Damn! I'd forgotten about Ishibashi. I just had to go and look and found this.. oooh! Just wonder what "The Original 1976 Precision fretless.." actually means. What ever, it's a beauty. https://intl.ishibashi.co.jp/products/05-2800001437854

I just saw this on YTube and I just wanted to get a feel from those more capable members on here as to whether this seems viable and isn't just a bunch of video nonsense. I have been wanting to glitter/sparkle refinish the bitsa P fretless I have but don't have the funds to pay a pro to do the job. Bare in mind I am a cack handed klutz and anything that could, will go wrong (i.e. falling face first on the final coat as it dries). Whaddya think? Is it this straight forward?

Layla by Clappedout .. on and on and on Oh yes and that atrocious Umbrella ella ella by whoever it was, particularly that part. That line is criminally bad. That shocking "Irish" ditty by Sheeran. You know the one - "I had a little fiddle with an Irish man in the back of his Transit van. I said you can do what ever you can, then he hit me round the head with a frying pan."
