Thank you. It's a theoretical question that may lead to a purchase at some time, or maybe not. I was mulling over the idea of getting a 4ohm 4x10 to use instead of the 8ohm 4x10 I have. I was pondering if it would leave me a little more headroom and not be pushing the amp as hard.

Absolutely I get that, but at the same output volume level, would the 4ohm be noticeably louder?

Can I confirm that if - I have two 4x10 cabs, both rated at 500w but one is 8ohm and the other 4ohm. If I A/B these cabs from my 500W amp running exactly the same settings, the 4ohm would sound louder and if I want the 8ohm to match the perceived output volume, I would need to turn the amp output up? (Cabs being trialled individually). I'm sure there will be lots of variables that could be taken into account, but this is on a verrrrry basic level.

Bauhaus did two fairly different versions of Spirit. Once on the LP The Sky's Gone Out and then also as a single (it not just being a trimmed down shorted version). LP version Single version

I have a Les Paul style short scale Retrovibe. If I remember, it was a one off, put together to try out the style. I think David does this every now and again. I love it. It has a chunky neck and is fitted with their hi-gain RIC style pick ups which gives it a fantastic sound with roundwounds fitted. (Apologies for it looking rather grubby, but I have been playing it recently and it does need a clean!)

And to spite everyone, it would of course win.

Not had a chance to watch this yet, but certainly will. As I understand, right at the moment, AI is churning out derivative, cheesy nonsense that has no depth or staying power.. but isn't that what "the kids" are happy to absorb these days? But then, pop has always been a bit throw away, except there are a lot of classic "bangers" we still love from the wonderful charts of the 60's, 70's and 80's. Will there be any AI future classics?

Did someone say White Rabbit? Well, I've always enjoyed this post punk/psyche early 80's very messy self indulgent wig out by The Damned. Featuring some very up front Ric bass and lovely not quite in tune vocals by Dave Vanian.

Sadly, slowing down with him as I turn round and shout "IT'S TOO F*****G SLOW!". I have bitched about it many times and occasionally it sinks in. My current friendly little nudge before slightly faster songs is "Pace it, don't race it".

Oh he can! Though usually for me, he slows down and I am trying to push the pace, but he is unaware.

And my bass would be around his head! It's just a frustration that I am dweling on too much, but it could be a quick and easy fix. Obviously I did employ a little artistic licence for comedic effect. I would just hold it close enough so he was aware and could act upon it.

Well ours would start at 190 and it would end at 140. 🙄

Now that is another very big can of worms recently opened.

Shoving it in his face allows me to say "THIS SPEED!" at him and for him not pretend he wasn't aware. If I get a confirmation then I'm part way happy.

I want to be able to biff in the bpms and hit go and a big assed light begins to flash.. so I can shove that in our drummers face so he can count in songs at the right speed. (Something he seems to think only he can do). Thankee.
