  1. That's exactly how I've done it. This was for a boost channel and all I wanted was to lift the output level a touch. Worked perfectly.
  2. Ah! Yes! This was the what I had on playing in the back ground.
  3. Yes! Of course! Andy Warren laid down some great bass lines on DWWS. It's still an all time fav album for me. Watching Leigh play live with BWW, he does throw in a bit of manic slap as well as pick playing.
  4. I accidentally listened to some Bow Wow Wow the other day, and was blown away by Leigh Gorman's bass playing. I had totally forgotten how good he is. I'm very aware of him from the original Adam And The Ants line up but, blimey! Of course add in to this Dave Barbarossa's driving drums and Mathew Ashman's rockabilly sounding guitar and musically they had something going on. Sadly, for me, the songs are a bit meh and the vocals just don't help. Was it a Wal he was playing then? (I should add that it was live performance of the band that was running in the background from YTube.)
  5. It's this sort of nastiness that doesn't help encourage them..
  6. Hmm, not many pics that show this one, oh well probs for the best 😆
  7. I will NEVER EVER play Mustang Sally again. Purple Rain is now on my swerve list. We used to do it live and I'm utterly bored of it and it was never in the right place in the set either. Plodding rock songs make me shudder too.
  8. Alice strings? I thought that was a place in Australia?? I've never ordered from AliExpress but might give the roundwounds a go just to see.
  9. Not seen a Bo Diddly style P before.
  10. I wish I had pulled the trigger on one of the Retrovibe Renegades when they were available. I think Mr Hall got shirty about it though so they were limited production? Anyhoo, I did buy a Retrovibe Les Paul style short scale bass from them and it was loaded with their Ric pick ups and it sounds great! With new strings you can certainly get a Ric tone from it. I managed to knock it over yesterday, very obvious big dint on the front now
  11. It's what yer trousers are for! (Well that and to maintain modesty!). Wipe your hands on your trouser legs in parts of the song you're not playing and then use a towel (as mentioned above) between songs. I hang mine through the handle on the side on my cab. I guess Prince Andrew has never had this problem..
  12. When checking if my dirty crunch setting is good I'll pop out a little bit of Killing In The Name.
  13. Oh goodness me! Being shallower than a puddle on a summer's day, I have to admit that I find that watching a good female drummer to be one of the sexiest things out there.. I think I need a cold flannel!
  14. Blimey! I'd missed that episode and song. I was 17 at the time and "seeing" a gorgeous Italian girl, a year older than me, who was on a long holiday in my town. She used to sing this Ahhh... memories.
  15. As I recall, it's an 80's Fullerton Precision body (from @Beedster) with a Ki0g0n loom. Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder SPB-3 pups and the neck I think was from Harrier and is a lefty Jazz style, very thin. The truss rod is a mare to do anything with though. It needs some attention and tweaking but I love it Oh and of course Basschat strap retaining buttons
  16. Had an absolute flippin' stormer! Pub venue that is very local to me that has taken ages to get booked with (new management = interest in new bookings). It's always busy in there and it was no different last night. I think we went down very well (covers band with a good few unexpected ones in the mix) with the very mixed age, packed audience. I used my usual Ashdown set up and pedal board with my SansAmp and my bitsa P bass. The on stage sound was hard work with half the stage area surrounded with sound deadening curtains and deadening foam on the low ceiling above. My sound was a bit too thick for my liking and my top end aggressive edge was hard to pin down. The drummer's sub was squeezed in behind my amp and him and I think that may have unbalanced things for me. Anyway, soldiered through as you do We;re back there again in April, which is nice. My usual squeeze - from a previous gig. Please ignore the settings!
  17. Yes, it's great catching up on some of these. Many of which I haven't seen since the day they aired and apart from the well known bands and songs, it's those odd ones that you have no recall of that I love (and question how it ever got in the charts!).
  18. I guess the thing that bugs me the most is.. it's RickenBACKer.. that's BACK.. ACK ACK .. B..ACK.. Ricken BACKer. Not bloody Rickenbaaahcker!
