It might of course be easy to play in, say, F on guitar without a capo, but if you need certain open strings as part of the riff to whatever, you have to stick one on. Then it is not cheating, it is needed for the tune. Example - Wonderwall (lol) - it IS possible to play the guitar riff using barre chords exclusively instead of the second fret capo, but why should I? Or Mr Brightside - they down tune, so to do the riff PROPERLY, with the correct open strings, and at the original pitch (say the singer needs it) you have to tune to Eb (song needs Db etc). Which is a royal pain in the arse when playing guitar and your band won't do it at standard tuning. Not sure what my point it actually...I think I am basically waffling around the point - it's not about what is easier (capo, down tune), use whatever is available if the song needs it to sound right?

Test - nope typing is laggy
It's working perfect on my iPhone now. At least as quick as my MacBook. Woop!
Might try a reset, but everything else on my phone is fine... Edit - it is only posting and messaging that is slow. Browsing is ok

Great n my mac. REALLY VERY POOR on my iPhone. Shame, as I use that more....
Im still having a iPhone problem as well. The pages are fine but any typing is really, really slow.
Me too. Unusable

YES, I think they are doing stuff with the databases, which will obviously slow it down. Patience is the order of the day. It will be fine I am sure once it is all brought over etc.

COOL. I was not doubting that its live :-) Just wondered. It is the beeping on the pattern which I heard. Nice.

if it is all live, how is that whistle sound at the start being made - is it a triggered sample? Where can I buy the full ep? Is it on iTunes?
Ah yes, it could well lead to a Compact+S12T stack! Speaking of which, I had a go at it tonight. Now it was at low practice volumes and just me on my own, but here are a few initial thoughts. The sound of both cabs is instantly quite different. The Compact is deep and slightly woolly (I am used to a tweeter!), perhaps a scooped sound compared to the S12T but at least seemed not as strong in the mids as the S12T. Whereas, the S12T on its own sounded a lot brighter and punchier, definitely better for playing up at the dusty end, butt noticably less "deep" than the Compact. But both together? ... oh my god. This is the sound I have been after all these years - both deep and punchy at the same time. Everything is there, and the two cabs go together completely naturally. Love it! After 10 mins of low volume playing the amp didn't complain at all or even get warm, though obviously this is not a very thorough test! I am definitely looking forward to cranking this rig up at the next rehearsal! As an aside, yes the 2.66 ohm stuff is in that table, so it looks like TC have admitted these amps are 2.66 ohm capable. Even more interesting is there "peak" power of 800W that has always been put forward, is actually the peak power at 2.66 ohm load. So I don't really expect any problems with the Barefaced cabs I've got now. EDIT: And it looks more and more that "only works with three TC cabs" is just marketing for you to go and buy more TC cabs!
I currently have a Compact and S12t both at my place (Compact going back). But I cannot try it as my ABM is only 4ohm capable... MY interest is awakened in the TC amps again though...but go not dosh so it will have to wait. For a long time... -
Not really in the sense that it's free and you are not obligated to use it

To add to the detractors on here we also have folk on Facebook thinking the world has ended as that has changed a bit too. Come on folks embrace the change lol

Indeed. It's a free site, I think we should all be grateful. FFS, it's not rocket science to use and I for one think it is LOADS better - one of the best platforms out there. Thank you :-)
This is what I have been saying - the new posts filters make your life so much easier (hold on, BigBeatNut!) On the old site if you posted in a thread you had to bookmark it in your browser or just remember to check back. With this forum you can find all the threads you started and participated in all under the one page. If you are having problems with email, then turn it off for now. I have never set a forum to email me when someone posts as I just visit the bookmarked 'new posts/posts I have contributed in' page where I can see all my threads at a glance. Cheers ped
imho it's a massive improvement, and dead easy to use
-
I don't use notifications by email but like the new posts filters a lot. Easier than getting a clogged up inbox
-
Well, just to chip in, I have not found any problems once I got used to the myriad new options and filters. I like it. In fact I also liked the new mobile version, but this is now back to the full web based one sadly. Good work :-)
To be even more boring R is commonly used instead of Omega (the Greek symbol) for ohms. Ohms, in this case, being the impedance
indeed. well said that man. -

Yep, it is there at the bottom. 2.67R I think R means resistance, which is measured in Ohms......thinking back 20 years to education lol But that means 3 8ohm cabs, or one 4 and one 8
