1. He's bought a couple of things from me recently, a really great bloke to deal with.
2. My new rig, thanks to Mark at Bassdirect, a really fantastic guy to deal with. This is the best that I've ever played through, and I mean the best.
3. I remember seeing them on 'The tube', I think before they were actually signed they were playing to a drum machine and were really jazzy, they toned the jazz bit down a bit later.
4. I have a few quality cables, a Vovox, a Zaolla, an Evidence audio lyric, and I also have a cable from Bayeau cables in the US which uses Canare cable. I also have some planet waves cables, I can hear a difference between each of the cables, and there is a definite difference between the higher end ones and the planet waves cable. The Vovox uses a separate conductor for the the send and return signals http://www.vovox.com/neu/content_e/00_01_01.html Zaolla use silver conductors which have lower resistivity than copper http://www.zaolla.com/zaolla_product.html Evidence audio http://www.evidenceaudio.com//product.html The evidence audio cable is currently for sale by the way.
5. Excellent condition, and full working order. £50 including postage.
6. Both are in excellent condition, I prefer a wide leather strap, so these can go to a new home. They're £25 at the Gallery, but each one can be yours for £15 including postage.
7. I know people say that a guitar cable is a guitar cable, but I challenge anyone to try this against any other make, and not hear a difference. This is as new, and has had studio use only, it's 15ft long. http://www.evidenceaudio.com//product.html This is in perfect condition, I've just bought a Vovox cable, and I have a Zaolla that I use for gigging, so this is a bit redundant. £35 including postage.
8. Have you thought about a replacement neck by Modulus, they do jazz style with a Chechen fingerboard, so you have the best of both worlds.
9. I no longer have need for this, it's in mint condition. I prefer personal collection, but I will post it if necessary.
10. No sorry, straight sale only, I've already found what I'm after, thanks anyway.
11. These are both in excellent condition, as you can see in the photos, and they sound fantastic. I'd like £375 for each one, plus shipping, though I'd really prefer personal collection from the Birmingham area.
12. Basscentral and bass northwest are both really good, I've ordered my new fretless Modulus through Planetbass, they are really great.
13. I sold a case to Bernie, no problem at all, a great person to deal with.
14. I remember you talking about this at Christmas time, that's a neat job, well done.
15.
I'm afraid I'm going to give a very boring answer - learn the notes of the neck, learn chord construction ( eg what notes are in what chord ) and then apply this to the neck. This will help you in the long run much more than learning a bunch of shapes. It's a bit like the music version of the "teach a man to fish..." story Cheers Alun
+1000, having a good knowledge of musical theory is essential, as is knowing your way around the fingerboard. It helps if you can 'see' the chord notes, then you can just put your fingers where ever needed.

17.
Yeah how good is the CD kev? Im probably gonna have some audio on this soon.Next month or so.
It's really good, and shows his playing off really well in a band situation. I'm going to book my place on his masterclass on Thursday. I'd like to hear some of your stuff on your 9.
18.
Your reply makes you come across as the tosser to tell the truth, and very stuck up your own arse.
I don't think he comes across as anything but someone who's fed up with people making smug, and conceited remarks about HIS instrument. I recently bought a great CD by Yves Carbonne, http://www.alternityrecords.com/yvescarbonne.htm Essential listening for ERB lover and haters.
19. The declared UK mains voltage is 230V, it actually varies quite a bit, anywhere from 220V to 250V.
20. I've just bought a vovox cable that I love, and I also have an Evidence audio cable, so this is a bit redundant. It's in excellent condition, studio use only. £20 including postage.
21. I have a couple of valves that I no longer need now that I'm reverting to using solidstate amps. I have a Telefunken 12AX7 and a Jan Philips 12AX7 I was given them, so I don't really know how much they're worth, so shall we say £10 each including postage.
22. What he said was that they were getting people going in and trying stuff then buying from the internet.
23. The website site is terrible, it will let you buy a Markbass F1, but they don't actually have one in stock. They closed before Christmas, I was in there, it must have been the week before and there were no signs up or anything. The problem is, they sell stuff that the Gallery doesn't, so how are you supposed to try something before you buy it, they're advertising some expensive gear there.
24. What a surprise, I phoned them today to enquire about a Markbass F1 head, I really wanted to try one. Now they only do internet and telephone sales from a warehouse opposite where they had their shop. So now the only bass shop is the Gallery.
