  7. Clarky has gone the extra mile to source & supply several basschat members (including myself) with some double bass gadgetry. Arise Sir Clarky!
  8. Got mine also many thanks Clarky
  9. That's a very generous offer matey. I think the problem is the that holes in the tailpiece are not slotted keyholes, but just a small circular hole. the string is about an inch short at the nut Let's see if anyone else is dying to get their hands on an as new set!
  10. I bought a set of Garbos from Clarky a couple of weeks ago intending to fit them to my old French bass However due to the 42 1/2" scale and 10 1/4" afterlength they are not long enough using the loop arrangement at the tailpiece. Any suggestions for another method of fitting before I put them back up for sale? cheers
  11. Thanks Clarky, I'll make an online transfer and include a pint for your trouble cheers

  13. I could swap you a set
  14. I could use a couple more please.
  15. Swap ya for a mk2 walnut fretless five string?
  16. It's happened to me a few times with the full circle & bassmax Those after length fittings are not the best design, trouble with the bassmax is the cable is too short for an alternative fixing. If one must use this type of jack mounting it's advisable to wrap the instrument cord around the tailpiece a couple of turns or use a cable tie to prevent the mounting being pulled away. Then if you trip on the cable the pup is safe, you only risk breaking the neck
  17. Iv'e just fitted my trusty Obligatos on my Eminence and noticed the E string is buzzing. Has anyone got a decent spare they could part with for cash, swaps or favours etc?
  18. Glad it's sorted. Now some advice. Get your pliers and loosen the nut that holds the pesky string clamp, take the string clamp and nut off and put them in a safe place. Then fix the jack socket to the tailpiece as you would with any other pup. It works for me.
  19. Has it dislodged the bridge at all? if the bridge angle has altered and not sitting squarely on the disc it could be the cause of the poor sound. If it is the cable it repair depends on which version you have. Early models are sealed and afaik can't be repaired. Later models have 4 tiny screws on the non threaded side which suggests to me that it takes apart. good luck!
