Thanks, i'm really pleased with how this has come out. I'l have to let you know on the B in a few days hopefully when its delivered, i've got some custom strings being made for it so we will see.
Newtones? I get them made up for my 31.5" 6 string and 4 string basses, they can work wonders! I've tried various others though, D'Addario's medium scale strings are very nice, and the tension on LaBellas was near perfect, although I didn't quite get on with those strings. Cheers, Eude
Well this was a nice surprise, only ordered this about 7 weeks ago and was told 12 to 15 weeks. Jake 32" Scale, active with Delano pickups and set up in B-E-A-D.
Very cool! How's the low B with the 32" scale? Eude

That is simply awesome mate! You must be one happy bunny? We'll need a photo with it's sibling, of course... Eude
Yeah I would have loved a Sterling 5er, but you just don't see them 2nd hand, and the couple I've seen previously were snapped up, but had maple fingerboards (ugh). But with this coming in cheaper than a used MM ever would, i'm very happy with the amount of bass I have for the money. Yeah I had a 44-02 Deluxe in a past life, nice bass, but just wasn't very 'me' (cherryburst quilted maple top, super plain maple fingerboard (can you tell I don't like maple f/bs?)). Si
I think the one I played had a natural ash body and a rosewood board. I'm not the biggest fan of maple boards either Eude

Very classy looking bass Si! I reckon a MM Sterling 5er would be a nicer bass, but this will be a lot more versatile for sure. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it! I had totally forgotten, but I had a shot on a Skyline 44-02 many many moons ago and was very impressed with it. Eude

Nope, it's been deleted. To be honest, there are louder class D amps out there, including newer ones by Ashdown. They do pop up now and again on here though, as do their predecessors which have a more extensive EQ section. Eude
Jon said he only recently got hold of the knobs with the white lines. He rather likes them, they are turned aluminium, anodised black.
There's not many forums where you can say "nice knob" without it being taken out of context, lets hope this is one of the good ones... Eude
I love the idea of something that size. I see a fiver in the picture, how does something that small handle the deep end?
Pretty well mate. In a gentle environment, say an acoustic jam, it's just fine, but for a bit more welly, you really need the two cabs. I've not used it much in anger as yet, but it's very capable considering the size. The best comparison would be a 2x10 combo if you've tried anything like that? Although, it's hand having the second 1x10 cab up nearer your ear, rather than on the floor. Eude

Good choice and thank you for the update on whether it was ready or not Eude

Fusion Urban Series - Double Electric Bass Gig Bag Review
eude replied to ped's topic in Accessories and Misc
Good to know. I'd love to see the Urban in the flesh. Even if it's more expensive, if it's as well made and a little less bulkier and lighter, I might go for it. And in a prettier colour (vain? moi?) The keyring... not sure that would sway me, unless it has a beer bottle-opener function
If you're ever in Moffat, I'm sure Alan of ACG fame will have some in stock to look at. Eude -
Here's my FULL rig, but using just one of these little cabs still holds its own very well, and is extremely small/compact. Eude

Holy crap! That looks incredible! Definitely like the Sadowsky style knob with the white line too. Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? Eude

Fusion Urban Series - Double Electric Bass Gig Bag Review
eude replied to ped's topic in Accessories and Misc
Ha ha! I have the green one too... not because I liked it but because I could not get the blue or orange that were my first choice Tempting to secure one of those... especially at that price
If you don't mind the colour, I'd say go for it, it's about £50 off, no? -
Fusion Urban Series - Double Electric Bass Gig Bag Review
eude replied to ped's topic in Accessories and Misc
Nice review, thanks Ped! I've been using a Fusion F1 for 3 years now. Still going strong and it's a fantastic bag/case. I was a bit disappointed when I heard the F1 was discontinued and the closest new model would be the Urban, as it seemed to me that they reduced the peripheral protection but I guess it's because of the new inserts that hug the body. Eude, how do they compare, the Urban and the F1? I'm thinking about having a second case and I'd love another F1, but I guess the Urban will have to do. One thing I enjoy about the F1 is that between sets etc my bass is in the case, upright. Often between bass cabs and a guitar cab with a wall behind. To get my bass in/out all I do is unzip the case about half way and slide the bass in/out. It looked to me the Urban makes this harder. Am I right?
The F1 certainly feels a little more substantial, however I think the improvements in the design for the Urban negates that, and also means it's a little lighter. I can't quite compare apples with apples, as my F1s are bass bags and my Urban is a guitar model, don't worry though, I use it with my short scale headless. The Urban is equally well made, I wouldn't worry about it compared to an F1, as good, if not improved They do still have some F1s, but in a bit of a nasty colour way >> https://www.fusion-bags.com/collections/guitar-gig-bags/products/f1-bass-guitar-gig-bag Eude -
Weren't the MiBass ones the ones that connected external speakers in series?
I think that might be the Little Giant ones. The MiBass 2.0 head has 2 speaker outs on it. Eude

Fusion Urban Series - Double Electric Bass Gig Bag Review
eude replied to ped's topic in Accessories and Misc
Lovely review of a lovely bag! I've got a few Fusion bags, two F1s and an Urban one and I'm extremely impressed with them. I wish they did some colour options, but bar they're awesome bags! Eude -
I've got the MiBass 2.0 head and 2 Mi10 cabs. There's been some confusion on the combos and cabs, I have heard that some were labeled incorrectly. I'd give Ashdown a shout with the serial number and they should be able to confirm or deny its alleged Ohmage. If it is 4 ohm and you REALLy want to add an external cab, Ashdown off the best customer service so I'm sure they would be able to advise on what your options are, maybe replacing the speaker with a suitable 8 ohm version? Hope that helps mate! Eude
Are they Fusion F1's you have Eude? From memory these are pretty deep almost the same as a hard case. Having checked, they have been discontinued and Fusion are selling remaining stock at a discount.
I've got a couple of F1s and an Urban one, albeit a guitar sized one for my shortscale headless. The are thick though. If the Mono Sleeve, or something equally slim is what you're looking at, the Fusion ones are going to be way too thick. Reunion Blues have a more recent cheaper bag, the RBX >> http://reunionblues.com/product/229/rbx-bass-guitar-bag - I think they're under £100. Another thought, I have a custom leather bag made by Probag that I got a few years ago >> http://www.probagg.com/ It's a lovely bit of kit, very thick rugged leather with excellent padding, pretty slim too. The straps are very well laid out and extremely comfy. They're custom made, so you could ask for one without the front pocket and you'd have something very slim and protective. I'm not sure how they work out price wise these days, much cheaper than the Harvest ones I'd bet though (mine was $135 including postage back in the day!), and being able to tweak the spec to fit your needs I'm sure would be useful. I can take some pics of it and do some measurments if you want. Cheers, Ewan
I have a Protec Contego and struggle to think of any way to improve it.
That's a pretty grand endorsement right there! They're certainly one of the better priced options too, I think the come in about £100, whereas the Fusion I mentioned and the Mono are near £150. Eude
I have a Mono M80. From a protection PoV it's great and you can squeeze into spaces in cars where a hard case wouldn't have enough give in it to fit. Unfortunately as a gig bag I find it very uncomfortable to wear on my back for any length of time, as the straps are too close together at the top and because of how they are mounted in relation to the height of the case and the fact that I'm only 5'6" means that the lower part of the case hits the back of my thighs on every step as I walk. However other Basschatters with the same case don't seem to have any problems with it, hence my recommendation to try before you buy. I picked the M80, because at the time it offered a good amount of protection, but was smaller and lighter than the rest of semi-rigid competition. I should also point out that after 5 years of less than once a week use mine is starting to wear out. The exterior is looking a bit shabby and the main zip has become damaged at the bottom, which means I can no longer fully open the case. If I was buying another gig bag without being able to check it out first I'd settle for a standard well padded bag at around the £30-40 mark. The Ritter one I had previously was far more comfortable to wear, and although it only lasted 3 years of weekly use before it was too worn to trust it to protect the bass inside, to me it would make more financial sense than an expensive semi-rigid case.
The Fusion bags have a different strap set up, I'm also 5' 6" and I don't have any issues with wearing mine at all. I can't comment on how long it'll last as I only really play at home for the moment, so they've not exactly been battered, but it does sound to me that the Mono bags might not be all that hard wearing, I've a few others in very shabby condition over the years to. Gator do a semi rigid bag these days, there's the Gruv Gear one, can't recall the name and there's always the Protec Contego too. Plenty of choice out there. If you're ever in South London, you're more than welcome to check my bags out (that sounds weird, but you know what I mean). Eude

I'm a big fan of Fusion Bags mate >> https://www.fusion-bags.com/ Similar idea to the Mono ones, but made in good old blighty. Alan specs this with his custom ACGs if folks don't want a Hiscox case. Cheers, Ewan
Cheers! That's all TKS 212 - nothing in the PA.
Amazing! Eude
I did a dep with a fab rock band wot I occasionally play with on Saturday night. The R-400 sounded glorious as usual. One thing I've learned with this head is that the pots really are linear, unlike the norm where most of the action happens in the first 3rd of travel. So, if a crystal clean tone is your thing, you just need to run the input gain lower than you'd normally expect, and run the output gain higher.
Sounds awesome mate! Lovely and punchy, yet full and still complimentary to the overall sound of the band - marvelous! Is the sound all from the cab, or have you gone through the PA? Eude
Both speakers now done and I've gotta say, I'm pretty pleased with the end result.
Cracking job mate! They look awesome. Eude -
I chose this amp for the Class A twin I/P and I like the design of the Pascal module. It is simply a better module in my humble opinion. As to whether the product is better - I'll let you know.
I have heard good things about the Warwick heads, and any negatives have been about quality control, mainly on earlier models. I've never ever heard anyone question their power rating, which is rare for these kinds of amps! I have to say, I am quite keen to hear how you get on, if I had the money I'd probably have a very similar set up! Eude
