1. Good contender for the delano hybrid system to be fitted in
 2. and is the blend pot a double decker one? (6 points of contact) or a single decker one (3 points)
 3. is the switch supposed to be a coil tap (2 pos) or a series parallel single coil (3 pos) ?
 4. how much electronics do you know? If the pickup is fried I couldn't fix it but everything else you should be able to fix I would have thought. I would be able to and I'm no expert
 5.
I agree. Though I'm thinking vol vol tone?
thats cos you have more experience making basses than me! He's also got a warwick fortress advertised on here for £350 which isnae a bad price
 6.
Not really as you could just as quickly revert back if you had a new pick-guard as no mod needed for the MM pup as it is already routed. Wonder if it still has the MM preamp (not sure if that would work with other pups).
you would have thought there would be a blend knob in there for the jazz, so my guess is not. Question I have is why wouldn't you just sell your musicman and buy a jazz?

 8. Freddie, do you want me to stick up the ones you emailed me for you?
 9.
Hi Guys thanks for the replies, some food for thought amongst the posts, i have no great preference for Jazz basses in my new search. The other "problem" at the moment is now is not a good time to sell a bass and get a good price, and very few people are trading down. I have been looking at Overwater recently so there is a possible option and i could potentially get it with my prefered options etc. Anyway the search continues. Cheers Paul.
if you are looking at overwater look secondhand first some bargins out there recently
 10. and I would have thought fairly easy to convert back with a MM pup
 11. if it's the filter based preamp that interests you there is a secondhand ACG for sale at the mo on the forum with their (as in ACG's) preamp in it. Prob a good bass in itself. I would be tempted to try that as a far far cheaper trial and sell it on if you don't like it or find an alembic you love
 12.
Hello all, Yes having a batch of guitars built in China is something I have often thought seriously about... and to sell them aimed at learners with necks set up with the fastest super-light action might be thought certainly subversive, and perhaps even downright weird by the status quo of guitar retail. But I have no starting point or contact in China... any ideas anyone? On Wigan: I thought the gist of the book, 'The road to Wigan Pier' was that Wigan is not on the coast and has no Pier! Thanks, Mark......................
no, wigan pier is in wigan and is the pier on the canal where things were landed. Pier=hard=hythe=moorings=harbour=landing area=wharf=dock
 13.
option IV: spend some of that money on regular lessons, and work on improving the tone coming out of your fingers
nah, my playing is fine. I've also got a 'no lessons' thing when it comes to music. Not because I'm particularly good- but because design and art is the creative form I'm trained in and HAVE to work hard at and be good at. Music and bass is just a great fun game for fun, and destressing. That's why I started playing- that's how it will continue
 14.
The acg pre is pretty epic but you have no idea what it will do to the wick. Granted you could sell it on quite easily but for that reason alone I'd be looking for a different bass instead.
what do you think it would do to it?
 15. wow this still here. Is that pup in MM territory or jazz bridge? what's it sound like?
 16.
Yes, very well put by LukeFRC. Good advice, but if you still want to do this, I'd recommend a Fender Jaguar - a super jazz.
or keep the CS jazz and buy one of them sadowsky outboard preamps
 17. I note in your sale/trade thread for the CS Jazz you were asking about warwick, thumbs and infinities too.... I get a sense you don't really know what you are looking for, so I wouldn't go custom route. My gut feeling is that you have basses you like. and they are probably good ones, maybe sell some and have fewer- and then play the things. Part of 'loving' an instrument is the history of it and you- where you have played it- the fact you learnt certain tunes on it and so on. I have a sneaky feeling that if I walked into your house and took 3 of your basses and £1000 from you, and your mate then called you up wanting you to play some cool music- after 6 months you would say you 'loved' that bass and it wouldn't go anywhere (or you would have really good ideas of what it was lacking and what you needed) - maybe because you have the choice you aren't settling? Sell some maybe and stick with the best two. Got an alright Hi-fi? if not buy one and some CDs with some of the money- listen to new music. thats my 2p. (helped me with my own deliberations too!)
 18.
Overwater, Sei, Bacchus, Lakland US, Shuker, Alleva? Some of those would be well out of the £1,000 price range, mind, unless aiming second-hand. You're right, though, Luke - it would be good to know more about what would make it 'special'.
"value of existing basses plus £1000"
 19. question: how could you improve your customshop jazz? what doesn't it do that you want it too? Just as the three basses in your sig are fender designed jazz/pj I think you are looking at an amazing jazz bass but I wonder what would be the step up from fender custom shop? Something active? or a very well built version by overwater or sei or someone?
