1. Also have to vouch for John's work. My main bass is a custom Shuker and I'm positive it will stay with me for life. Lovely piece of craftsmanship. For 1200 it's a steal.
2. You wouldn't consider shipping it?
3.
It might be sacrilege to say this, but if Jon Stockman wasn't the bassist in Karnivool, I probably would never listen to them. I think that I would nearly add Flea to this as well. I don't really like The Who that much either, but John Entwistle was fantastic.
Agree on The Who.. used to love them but realised they only have maybe 10 or so really good songs at best. Entwistle is great though.

+ 7 chord?

I'd associate the + with an augmented chord so, although I've never seen a Am+7 before, I'd suggest Am7b13?

Soloing

Arpeggiate through the chord progression in all inversions all over the fretboard and then use these notes as target notes to start and finish your phrases. I find that this is also the easiest to learn a chord progression of a song.
6. The 1962 was the nicest imo followed by the 72.
7. Is that a set neck or neckthru? Beautiful bass.. seriously interested.
8.
Sei and ACG would get my vote depending upon your taste... but... Psst... http://www.pavelmi.com/
Wow they make some fantastic looking basses. Have you tried playing them?
9. Seems I have to contact ACG thanks for your suggestions!
10.
+1 for ACG. Your best bet is to get in touch with Alan, tell him what you're looking for and he will give you an idea of the cost. Top bloke to deal with and really helpful.
Thank you. Also currently looking at Shuker, seems like stunning basses.
11. Christ that is a thing of beauty. I'm seriously considering ordering one. Has anyone got a lot of experience with Shuker that they'd like to share?
12.
I'm more than happy with my ACG SC Harlot - the electronics are up there with the best of them. Asymmetric neck is really easy to play and the choice of timbers is excellent. Alan is a really nice fella (met him at this weekend's LBGS) and is happy to discuss any issues you might have. There are a couple of threads available in different parts of the forum - you can start in "Affiliates" and "Build diaries". Here's a sample of his work: I'm not sure where about's in London you are but if you can get to Hatfield you're welcome to come and try..
Wow that certainly looks different to anything else I've seen. I'll have a look, thanks . How much did that set you back by the way? I should've probably mentioned my budget is around £3500.
