Not surprising as they are built by Cort who also make Lakland Skylines, (and also make for Fender, Ibanez etc.) I have a G&L L2500 Tribute and it is an awesome bass. As you say the build quality is fantastic and you really do get more bang for your buck.
... what I was going to say... prob from the same factory!
I like that Molotow site, it's given me some ideas for a unique paint job. The new project won't be a new Shuker, I'm just getting Jon to do some of the more dramatic wood surgery before I do the rest myself.
are we due an update sir?
If you owned this amp your gunna need to have your chiropractor on speed dial
well email. Your phone will be less usefull once it wrecks your hearing!

Which sweet spot? The P bass sweet spot or the Musicman sweetspot? My suggestion - either tune it by ear to where sounds best... or let Leo do that for you and just copy his pickup placements
-
-
If you havn't.... er the MEC pre's do give it a certain sound that kinda suits... but for most cases their are nicer preamps out there.
-
nice! (and how does it compare to the JV's?)
Hmmm, you think so too? I have to say... Fatbeams are the only ones I have been able to locate with a 45-65-80-105 gauge...
well the zing has gone and they lasted a long time..... let me put it this way, the fatbeams I had on my P outlasted the coated strings you sold me.... by a long long time
-
My guess.... DR strings of some kind - thats judging by look and how you describe them.
From personal experience I can say that high end stuff is most certainly selling - often at full asking prices too! My vague theory was that people didn't get what they wanted for Xmas so were buying themselves little presents
oh thats nice. For some reason I stuck my amp up for sale at the weekend, not sure why! -
Fair point, my only problem with the 1000w thing is that I can't ever really see when I would need that much power, and there's the thinly veiled hope that a 500W single channel version might be a little smaller and cheaper
this. I think the Hellborg preamp is regarded as being quite nice, I think if Warwick focused on providing a top quality pre and matching it up to a number of different power units... Like as it is, 1000w is neither here nor there for me, but it has twice the amount of preamps that I would want.

You will need to clearcoat over paint. Oil is for wood
It happens...
wow, how she managed to get her keys part in the right key and then stand up and play the bass in the wrong key... how?
Guys I have 3 warwicks and was thinking about getting rid of my 5 string streamer 1 and get a stingray! Need a change of sound with nice growl also need it too cut through! Any thoughts??
How can't you cut through with a SS1? I found mine usually was too present in the mix until I change the pups/pre. I would think if it's growl or cutting through you're after a SS1 would be up there with or ahead of a stingray - but differently.
Played around with bass and amp but it just seems to mid-high out!
what does this mean?
-
I used to play in a largish church band, acoustic guitar, electric, keys, and backing singers- quite busy. If I used the Ashdown rig they had there I would get a big fat sound that would fill the room - but be constantly told to turn down. On the other hand my Hughes and Kettner Quantum 600 head (with the same cabs or my own) would have a lot more focused sound, warm and fat but taking up less of the mix space. So you could say I cut through the mix better, and sounded better I want that amp back! Ironically my Warwick streamer before I changed the pups and pre was way way too prominant in the mix for what I wanted. It stood out too much
What's wrong with you people?? Why are the classified pages bursting with more lovely gear than usual? I have a small collection of lovely basses and amps that are very dear to my heart, yet everywhere I turn there's lovely CS and vintage Jazzes, peculiar CS Precisions, Deluxe P's, Vanderkley cabs, Mesa stuff... what's going on? The temptation to sell most of my stuff and replace it just for the sake of it is overwhelming. Get behind me, Satan! *dons GAS-proof suit*
Probably cos less stuff is selling? and/or folk need the money? -
What would be the correct way to .......
LukeFRC replied to mentalextra's topic in Theory and Technique
depends how fast the song is and how the notes have sound? I wouldn't bridge them myself, one you have less control on when the first note ends and secondly it won't be as natural a move to go from barring to moving down the neck afterwards -
I think we could all understand the design if it was £1500 and had an all valve preAmp and was aimed at the studio recording market. With the bonus of a small class D amp big enough for small gigs and rehearsals. Bet it would have flown off the shelves. But the 1000Watts does not add up as anyone needing that power is looking for roadie proof armour plating.
good point the really odd thing is in the "new warwicks" thread folk seem to be excited about this amp, whereas on this thread in the amps section people are more sceptical
Interested in this? : http://basschat.co.u...ade-price-drop/
Hi Gareth. Thanks for offer, not really interested in most combos I'm afraid as I've got a great lightweight cab. cheers
What's the input of a single channel into 8 ohms? The manual doesn't say what a single channel delivers non-bridged into 8. Pete
Hi Pete I'll just go find the manual.... er doesn't say. My guess is that it's the same power unit as in the 500 so thats 300w into 8ohms I think. (or 1000w bridged) - the non bridged channels have individual volumes on them too, and a LPF deep function on channel 2 for running a sub (or the Tecamp pleasure board) too. However I just saw your second post- I don't think I would be interested in other Tecamp Puma's I'm afraid, I would miss the compressor on the 1000 too much. Thanks though
The bass is apparently in Kelso, Northumbria - not in London - says that he had no interest locally so advertised it where he hoped there would be more.. He's given me an address which is genuine - anybody who is local and/or interested can contact me or the seller..
Isn't kelso in scotland? Anyway - close for anyone going to the moffat bass bash
