  1. Yeah but you don’t post the blow by blow f ups!
  2. He does that. It’s mildly annoying as you end up planning your own projects- but in my case without the skills
  3. With the tecamp 210 I had it was middy as it wasn’t designed properly so at any sort of volume the bottom end disappeared...
  4. Out of interest which channel strips?
  5. Me neither, and I think when I looked at the helix after folk in this thread were raving about it - it modelled amps I was meh about, and not £1k meh enough edit: just looked again, they have added more now so slightly less valid
  6. I had always presumed that is how they did it, bending irons I only found out about today
  7. GK through one of the older Schroeder cabs ... ? Trace Elliot maybe too. Stick a bright sounding bass through it too, Warwick or Spector with EMGs? I dunno, it’s the exact opposite of what I like - my streamer with active pups into a trace could conceivably combo cut through with so much mids it sounded like a machine gun when I played punk style with fingers. You may like this?
  8. Being a bassist and only medling in acoustic I find this really interesting - I used to have a 80's Takamine dreadnaught and never fell in love with it, killer strumming, not so good finger picking... I later picked up a OM sized acoustic (actually think it's a custom luthier copy of a 30's Martin, no idea, sound stunning wasted on me really) and it's like chalk and cheese - sounds beautiful and lets me do the finger picking type stuff - but like you say not so good at strumming.
  9. 4 at mo ‘91 Warwick streamer with ACG preamp - main bass for years ‘83 -G&L L1000 - bought as it was on my like-to-own list, was supposed to be an itch to scratch but became my new number 1 ‘85 warwick thumb - bought for me by my wife, amazing but we’re not really getting on (the bass, still like the wife) ‘17 DIY stingray shaped build, double pickup, own designed switching etc- sounds better than it should, fun to play- sounds amazing through my Zoom B3n for some strange reason ive probably got at least one more bass than I need, and luckily don’t really have much left on the GAS list at all. Fender Roscoe beck or maybe a Valenti/Sadowsky/fodera super jazz are about the only things left- so that’s quite nice - and even then I don’t think I would bother shell out... ... hang on contented chat like that will get me banned on here won’t it?
  10. Kudos In a separate thread you should document them somehow - they are a brand who were mostly considered rubbish when I started playing - a brief ownership of a T40 changed that opinion but the different models down the years and the relative merits is a bit hard to work out. Mind you if you did do that then if might increase the interest and make it harder to add more to the collection!
  11. It would be ok providing your iPhone doesn’t effect any instrument pickups
  12. What is it? Kinda like the Allen and Heath ME1 I use on an iPad Pro ?
  13. EBS_freak or IEM_ freak?
  14. Ah - you saw this before I realised this was the FRFR thread!
  15. Ignore me
  16. Just get it bought!
  17. I recently picked up a B3n and did consider saving for a Helix ... the one big advantage I could see other than price was the Helix is a top of the range guitar effects pedal with bass functionality added... where as the B3n models some quite esoteric bass equipment- you get the feeling that someone at Zoom plays bass
  18. Is it the MN type you wanted? (Centre both 100%)
  19. You never see the Fender Charles Mingus sig with the wobbley criss cross details? Mingus was famous for it...
  20. Just me that sees that and wants to paint it surf green or something - I can’t even play electric guitar!
  21. Not sure you’ve PMd me!
  22. Chalk and cheese, and then confused by Barts classic range so that it’s like chalky cheese. Anyway @Andyjr1515 amazing build, was supposed to be getting an early night but stayed up reading this- you’re making me want to build another bass when the problem is I’ve too many basses in the house!
  23. You know you could have gone to private messages quite a while back right? 😋
  24. I was feeding my zoom B3 into the return on my amp and it sounded amazing - I’m able to tune the B3 to what I want far better than straight into an amp - made me wonder again if I really need an amp and just get a FRFR pa speaker
  25. I would have one of them again
