Yep it's a tall font. You can tell by the lettering on the front. The other green version is the bubble ones...the writing is rounded and is a lot more common. Still sounds bitchin' though. Can't really remember how much they were. The 2 green's I've had were about £100 each, maybe a bit more with taxes. I had one from the States and one from Canada. Some people moan about how they were £20 when they were new and no-one liked them, and now they're the bees knees because they're discontinued, but I think they are worth the money. Can I ask how much the tall font cost you?

What an excellent muff you have. I've had a few of the later green versions and the black one too. I've always wanted to try the tall font one as word on the intenretz is that it's the best sounding (same as the Civil War muffs I believe). In regards to knobs...not sure. I thought you used to be able to get them from Small Bear electronics in the Stares, but a quick look shows they don't have any. They can come up on the Bay sometimes, but not too often. Sorry...I've not been much help!! Enjoy that green goodness though!

No problem brother. Ermm...not sure. Any way to check? The pickup is from 1996...did they have neo back then? There's a big magnet stuck on the bottom of it too. According to Schecter HQ, it adds a bit more oomph (my words, not theirs).

Hi Tom, Sorry for the late reply. Hopefully these may be of some help to you. If you need anything else, just ask. Eccuse the slightly shaky pics! That last pic tries to show how deep the pickup is till it hits the rectangle part of the pickup (the base, if you will). You can see on this thread (first page I think) how deep they actually go.

Umph - Indeed. When I'm a bit more comfortable in life, I may take another look at one of these. Tommo - Did you mean the pickup poles? Diameter is 6mm.

Thanks Doctor. The pickups already have like a copper tape round them. You can see it in the picture near the start of the thread. Is that what you meant? On the completed pics, it does look like exposed pickup windings, but that's not the case.

I did. Bastardos! Paid about £90-100 extra with customs charges. You can choose who Warmoth ship with...USPS (which is delivered here by Royal Mail) is more likely to slip through the net. Otherwise, they use UPS, and I've paid customs every time with them. The advantage though with UPS is a great tracking system and it was at my door 2 days after it was shipped from Washington state. Great service, but pricey.

All done! Picked it up from Jack Ellis at Jack's Instrument Services in Salford this morning. Great guy to work with, did all I asked and was helpful in guiding me with what needed doing. And cheap too! Anyways, here are the pics for everyone. It's been a long time coming, but I finially did it!!

Hi all, Moving back to the sweet sound of Jazz Basses soon, so this is up for sale. It's an Ibanez Blazer from April 1981, and I got it off this very forum last year. Condition is pretty good, beat up in a few places from 30 years of playing, but nothing too drastic. Those in the know, know that the Ibanez basses from this period are of great quality and this thing is *cliche alert on* a Precision killer. Main points of damage are a dent close to the bridge, a dent on the lower horn and some buckle rash near the neck plate. I've tried to capture these in the pics, but they obviously don't affect playing or the structure of the bass. The pickup sounds amazing...powerful, grindy, but full-bodied and oozing with bass and mids. I got this as a bass I could gig with and not worry too much about it being knocked about. It has performed perfectly and never let me down, but it hasn't been abused. Price wise, I'm looking for £230 shipped within the UK, or you can pick up from Lancaster for 220, which is what I paid for it 12 months ago. Currently strung up with some old GHS Boomers which may need replacing, but I like my rounds worn in. I'm putting this up now, but it might be the end of next week or early week after before I can get it shipped, due to working. Thanks for looking - any questions, just ask. I took a shedload of pictures, so here they are.

Beautiful. Quick question Thumbo. Where did you get your rack ears? They have them on the gk website, but when I tied to pay, they only shipped to a few countries. Not including the UK.
