Yup, I'm insured on my home insurance (Direct Line I think!) and as long as it is with me (be it in the car or otherwise) it is insured.

I use audio interfaces plugged into my mac - it's rare that I actually get the amp out. That way I can really hear my mistakes, and can record myself if I have any good ideas!

The iPad 1 would probably work just fine, although with the new OS updates it can be a bit sluggish (although, not significantly so)

Write out some quick and dirty lead sheets, marking the chord changes, and any significant points in the songs (stabs etc.) + a sample bass line for the first couple of bars of each section. Unless they have memorable bass lines that need to be dead on - then it's just a case of cramming!

When flightcased up, my amps are wider than my cab, so looks ridiculous. It sits on the floor.

Just a bit of constructive criticism, you have panned the bass fully to the left - not sure if this was intentional or not, but it is a bit distracting.
