  1. That neck is absolutely nuts, I love the binding!
  2. Such a great bass, really tight compressed low end with a great sparkly top, if I didn't already have one I would be all over it!
  3. What an absolute beauty of a Bongo, and they sound absolutely incredible (I should know, currently have a 5 string for sale on the marketplace wink wink). The only sellers remorse I've had was a Stingray 5 HH that I wish I still had. It's not remorse as such, I just wish I'd kept it a bit longer than the 3 months before I traded it for something more special!
  4. Agreed, I've always been a big fan of the Sterlings, and I'm really not happy with what MM have done with the naming conventions with the "Sterling by Music Man" line
  5. Tell me about it, I'd be just as happy if this doesn't sell if I'm totally honest!
  6. **SOLD/TRADED** I said I would never sell this monster, but the time has come to admit that I just prefer the sound of a Stingray, and I'm fed up of switching the fretless neck out on my 4 string! Here we have my session bass that has for the past 10 years mostly been used in studio or pit, having only made it to the stage once or twice; my 2004 Music Man Bongo 5HH in stunning Lava Pearl. It cuts through the mix like nothing else, and the 4 band preamp is just nuts. It has a couple of small marks, including the customary chip on the headstock, but nothing that you'd notice unless you looked closely (all pictured for full disclosure). **EDIT** - I've just noticed a couple of extra nicks on the body that weren't originally pictured. As such I'm dropping the sale price by £100 as it's only fair. Pictures showing the dings will be added soon, but they are both on the back/underside of the body, so pretty unnoticeable unless you go hunting for them **EDIT** It has action so low it plays itself if you look too hard at it, and is probably the easiest instrument to play I've ever had the joy of encountering. Last time it went live (link corrected): Some home recording too: Serial number details: Serial #F10925 ManufacturedNovember 5th, 2004 Build Code162-29-22-01-00-CR ModelBongo 5 HH ColorLava Pearl NeckRosewood Painted Bong PickguardBlack Pickguard Bongo 5 HardwareChrome Hardware It comes with the generic hard case (no official MusicMan one unfortunately) + shipping. Preferably I would be looking to trade for a Stingray 5 (Special, Piezo, H, HH, I'd consider any variation) but if you've got something interesting I'll hear any offer!
  7. I pulled this one from the archives, but I found a video of an old band I was in playing Travelling Without Moving:
  8. Oh boy, that's a stunner; I can't imagine it will be around for long!
  9. There is an argument that the frets vibration would be affected by the wood they are embedded in, but surely this would be too small to be discernible (in my opinion) compared to all the other variables that make up the sound. Hell, I don't know why one wouldn't consider something like "room humidity" to be a important variable to sound!
  10. Man this would make a great friend for my BO...
  11. I've just changed the pickup height on my Thumb BO to the "Warwick recommended" height, and it feels like a different instrument. They had sunk over time as the springs had been replaced with foam, so were really low down. Other than volume, it feels more responsive? It's probably psychological, but I am so happy
  12. Humans are rubbish at understanding their own biases, and I expect nothing less of expert craftsmen either. It's like how violinists are adamant that Stradivarius violins are somehow of a different breed of instrument, worth millions; yet we're unable to reliably differentiate them from their modern equivalents in a blind test.
  13. If a horse hadn't decided to try and use my car as an obstacle course I would be all over this; glwts
  14. I look forward to the recording with great interest, I have a special place in my heart for Overwaters
  15. They don't come up for sale often because they are incredible - no-one who owns one will sell!
  16. Couldn't agree more. The amp is such a great bit of kit, it's such a shame they cheaped out on such a fundamental part of it
  17. Yes I should probably have mentioned, because they are interference fit, you really need to shove them on!
  18. Yes, they should fit too - I also picked some similar up from Mouser and they fit: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/5164-1106WA
  19. These bad boys: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/5164-1230-L
  20. I run an RH750 for all the reasons that make this pedal great; if I didn't I would be all over this pedal - GLWTS
  21. I'm going down the glue route; I've got the replacement shafts, I just need to find 10 minutes to get around to doing it! I actually really like the "new" look from the white faced replacement knobs, and they feel a lot sturdier too!
  22. TC told me that I needed to send them the amp for a full "service" in order to replace the knobs. I've instead started replacing them with completely different ones that fit the same stem for pennies! I just need to replace the snapped stems now...
  23. One of the best pre-amp pedals on the market, absolute bargain and would have bought this if I didn't already own one - good luck with the sale
  24. These are so good; built like tanks too. I've only just managed to kill mine after about 15 years of abuse! If I can't get it back working again, I might be back with an offer!
