Well, I'm kind of glad to read that, because I didn't get to go in the end. My idiot cat tried to eat a wasp and so needed some urgent medical attention. I managed to pass my tickets to a mate in London but he only caught the last 5 songs... I saw them in Brixton Academy last year and I just think it's the wrong shape venue for them, the reverb is totally wrong. It was still ace though

Yeh he was great actually, got a lot of compliments on the sound afterwards, I told them all to thank Liam!

That's the one, ace venue, and more often than not @VTypeV4 is the expert on the sound-desk. It's probably a bit cleaner than when you last visited

Fair enough, I didn't know the story behind the decision making, just don't see the problem

No I've got the smallest equipment! 😛

It was to be used as a showreel and you'd rather him keep your f-ups on it? For me it really depends on the band/song. Some bands I record them all live in the same room and keep all the imperfections. Other bands I record them all separately and edit it until it might as well have been sequenced. For my own songs, I'll generally record one of each repetition and double or quadruple that, on guitar and bass, then do drums and any solos as proper takes.

I haven't seen it - to be honest I muted the group when the last album came out, I couldn't deal with it, but I pop back occasionally for the footage from gigs etc

If you're trying to get rid of tickets I can recommend the Vulfpack group on Facebook. I got rid of a spare last year through that group

Yeh I'm going on Thursday, really looking forward to it!

I played bass with Dante's Dog and drums with CreepJoint on Saturday at my favourite local venue The Rigger. There were a lot of people there, way more than I was expecting, loads that I didn't know, and both bands went down really well. I got a lot of compliments afterwards. Just gutted I forgot to turn on the GoPro!

I agree, it's just a Bad Musician thing. You should tailor your sound to suit your band, and listen to everyone else as well as yourself. Those that don't are just bad musicians, and they come in all forms

Drummers are getting some stick in here! I play drums in a few bands. One of them I play very loud but that is metal. The rest I think I'm quite controlled. I play bass in a band with a very controlled drummer - first band I've ever been in without wearing hearing protection! On the other hand I play with a couple of bassists who have way too much low end in their sound and turn up way too loud! And still claim they can't hear themselves!

Brilliant work! Really enjoying this thread -
At his solo show, towards the end of the set he was playing a guitar solo, and it was already awesome, he really sings through the guitar, very melodic even though some of the notes were really "out there", but then he did his sing-along-with-the-guitar trick, which took it to the next level, but THEN he started singing harmonies over the top of his guitar solo, and he was right up the end of the neck on a strat. Honestly I got shivers down my spine.

He wasn't this year but whoever it was did a fine job. I'd highly recommend his live show, very funny, and very funky Also check out his solo album. I think he might have a 2nd one out that I've not listened to but the first one is great. There's some brilliant bass playing (no Joe) and one of my favourite bass envelope filter sounds ever!

Just about the best Bass and drum sound...

not a massive fan of the sound but the playing on this is awesome! Thanks! -
I'm still a bit obsessed. I've been following this Irish band called The Ollam because he plays with them occasionally. I watched every video I could of his bass solos from their tour this year
