4. Now my Marshall (and the AC15) have gone I was going to buy one of these. What happened? I would be interested in knowing the outcome! Cheers Blademan
My PF-500 arrived this afternoon, had a play at home with it and it sounded great! Took it to rehearsal and it sounded amazing, right up to when it started to cut out. I guess I'll be ringing Digital Village in the morning about a replacement...
5. I only just checked this out. I don't usually read Dingwall threads as they are expensive and I want one That is truly superb! Now, how much will I get for a kidney?
6. Not to my taste
7. As soon as I saw 2k, I died a little inside
8. Welcome aboard Lots of info etc on here. Join in and enjoy!
9. A Squirer Vintage Modified Jazz is a pretty versatile bass. I picked one up on here sh for £150. Great to get back into playing after a break Welcome aboard by the way!
10.
Musicians Union give full cover if a member
Are there any pre conditions to joining the Musicians Union? Serious question as the acting union (Equity) require you to have two contracts before you can join. I gig on the pub scene but wouldn't say I'm a pro!
11. Do you mind me asking what sort of music you play? I've thought about doing the same as I don't get on with 5ers but love the fretted low E. Cheers Blademan
12. A lot of noobs do seem to start their forum life selling then disappear. I have also noticed most evenings that there are more sales posts than disscussions
13. <checks post count = 923> yeah totally agree Although I have not been able to sell anything as yet, I do enjoy starting and contributing to threads. Sadly I seem to be on here most nights
14.
Unfortunatley he has a reserve set on it and won't divulge what he has it set at. Another i'm looking at is This One But again I'm not sure as I know naff all about bass guitars or amps.
The Ibanez is a good starter. I had a Behringer BX600 that I just sold for £20. £100 would be a good price IMHO. Good luck
15.
Personally, I think you'll need to rely on a sparkling personality more than anything else. Essentially, there are thousands of people out there who can play what you can. The ones that end up in a band are those who are reliable, who a good laugh, who contribute to all aspects of being in a band and who have a small ego. I think as long as you can remember what riffs to play when, you'll fit in anywhere. You really don't need to worry about being pro-standard to get into a band. Truckstop
^^^^ This It's what I do!
16. Well, I have saved that as I think it's really good. Gives hope to those not that 'technical'
17. I'm in the opposite situation. Both of my bands have broken down and I haven't gigged for the last two months. My misses is happier but I miss the gigs When it gets back into the swing I will probably join in on the moan, but until then then, just count yourself lucky young man
18. Welcome aboard. Lots of gear to choose from in the for sale section. Keep up the practice
19.
You're just starting on the path to bigger/better/louder gear, so I'd go for separates because they are easier and probably cheaper to upgrade than if you're starting with a combo. You can mix and match and get a better combination than many combos provide. I'd look at used gear from the BC For Sale section.
Very good point
20. This looks like it will be a fantastic bass when it's finished.
21. But my uncle had one of them in his loft (but I don't really know anything about them). He died, so I am clearing out his stuff........ He also had a prototype P bass from 1943 that his room mate (L Fender esq) left him. Don't know if you are interested but it must be worth £1,000,000 (not that I know anything about Basses either)
22. I wish I had some 'decent' gear. If I had it, I would gig it. I only buy stuff I am going to use or so I tell the misses!
23.
I might give the Louvre a bell. I doubt if anyone's made any offers on the Mona Lisa this week... I'll offer them 50p.
But I don't think it's all original as I am sure the frame is off an 1860 painting by Monet.......
24. My fretless is cheap (£100) tat but gets admiring comments from non muso's at gigs. I love it as most have never heard of Rogue but it looks cool with the ebony look board
