The Helix can certainly do it. The unit has completely ended my amp and pedal GAS. Amazing bit of kit.
2. I remember when this came up last time. I have the 5 string version. If I had the money I'd be looking to complete the set.

It's more about whether the FR800 can get me a great just breaking up Fender Twin type sound as well as loads of bass.

Anyone tried the FR800 for guitar use? I have a Helix and I love it. At the moment I'm using a power amp and a regular guitar cab for guitar use, and 4CM with my DG M900 head and a pair of Retro One10 for bass use. I would like to reach the mythical position of having 1 rig for both instruments. I am currently investigating a variety of powered FRFR cabs - most of them being PA cabs as the powered guitar specific FRFR ones tend to be far lower in power and have a more limited freq range making them less suitable for bass use. The FR800 seems like it might do the trick, but I'd like to hear from someone who has tried it on guitar for a variety of sounds.
5. Is the body material harder to paint than wood? I wouldn't want to be trusting it to any old sod who hasn't done a resin body before.
6.
I had dxr12s but they didn't sound great for bass at all. We've got some rcf745s which do sound great with bass but they're the main pa cabs and as I don't own them outright I can't take them for dep gigs which is where I'd need backline.
did you use them with proper cab models or IRs ?
7. I'm about to order some Yamaha DXR10 cabs to go with my Helix. Mainly for guitar use but reports suggest they will be good on bass too. If so, I might have reached the legendary 1 rig for 2 purposes goal.
8. Crispin bought my Status fretless. Very easy deal, highly recommended. Good to meet you.
9.
Bass Direct have these in - just so you know. Cannot get over the price. Are these hand soldered analog pedals? Or are they digital?
All their products have gone up loads. Funnily enough since a particular event we're not allowed to talk about. Even the B3K is £200 now!!!
10. Marvel can set a worldwide release date for a film before filming has wrapped because they have the money to make it happen, even if they have to hire another 500 people to get it done. I don't know of any music company who could do that. I don't think it's a professionalism issue necessarily, I think it's a money issue.
11. Email the cab maker to see if they could estimate the force needed to damage it like that. It's good evidence. Might be able to prove the height it was dropped from
12. I usually find that when non-musical items arrive on time I haven't got time to use them that day anyway! Why new films are released on a Monday I will never know. I never have time to watch until the next weekend. Actually - I wonder if they do it on a Monday because new releases at the cinema are on a Friday and they don't want people opting to stay in. Mmmm...
13. I have never had a pre-ordered musical item arrive on time. Doesn't matter what brand or retailer. I think in a way we have been spoiled by Amazon DVD pre-orders and that sort of thing. I now just view a musical pre order to be nothing other than getting in the queue, and I'll simply order it from a shop I trust rather than the one that might have it a little earlier.
14. Join the Helix Group on facebook and ask. There are a couple, the one you want is "Line 6 Helix - Helix Rack - Helix LT User Group ORIGINAL" Lots of Helix nerds there. Youtube demos wont really help though, their compression system would ruin a proper comparison
15. From Nile himself: https://twitter.com/nilerodgers/status/642173067121328128 'Nard used flats first then swapped to rounds in the 70s.
16. Stevie Salas - Tell your story walking. The Commadores - Brick House.
17. I just ask if Tesco provided them with free food, and the power company free electricity.
18. I;m using the M900 with a pair of One10 and I think they really suit each other. So I vote for the Two10
19. I sold my B7K and kept my VMTD, and funnily enough now I wish I had gone the other way! I have the M900 amp now, but I use the B3K setting all the time, set low even for clean. It just does something I like to the sound that I can't do with the Vintage.
20.
With these it is possible to plug it in whilst using it? As in, use it like a traditional power supply?
Some but not all. The Rockboard LT XL will - I have one of them. And it's only about £45 too. It's very good. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/RockBoard-by-Warwick-Power-LT-XL-Lithium-Ion-Rechargeable-Battery/1FV7
21.
Scott Devine has done a wee review of this on his youtube channel. Very different from the other DG pedals. I like it!
It's got a real hint of the Pearce type grind in the mids.
22. On hold for Crispin until he can get over to try it.
23. I went cheap last time as I needed a beach pair. I got some Soundmagic ones and was frankly astonished. Definitely worth trying.
24. Or the Helix which has just had a massive bass heavy firmware update including a B7KU model with all the switches.
