  1. Many years ago the Hard Rock Cafe had a pair of Bruce Dickinson's furry tight stage trousers / leggings on the wall in a case. When I asked about it one of the people there told me the case had 2 purposes - firstly to stop theft and secondly because they smelled like they had never been washed during a world tour!
  2. I've had Pod2, XT and XT Pro. The amp models in particular are night and day with the Helix. But as per any sound you may still prefer your version. It's easy to get hung up about the accuracy of amp models rather than whether the sound is good. But the IR capabilities, multiple routing for even 4 parallel paths, Cab sims on the feed to the PA and no cabs on a feed to a power amp / real cab and USB to a DAW... all at the same time is amazing.
  3. Here you go. In depth explanation. There are 2 versions - a 25.5 scale and 27 scale for d-tuning fun
  4. The helix will control the variax. The new Shuriken Guitar has loads of demos and even a full album recorded by Twelve Foot Ninja. Stevic from that band has loads of helix and variax shuriken vids on YouTube.
  5. Sandbergs. I had an old shape TM5 (Jazz shape) in their heavy relic Roquefort blue and the relic job was amazing. I only sold it due to the weight.
  6. Anything and everything by the Beatles. Love the songs, hate the vocals -but there are many excellent covers.
  7. It's been 5 hours dammit! We need MORE!!!
  8. I'm not sure I can hear any difference - even with my studio monitors. I like the tone either way.
  9. Spector threads upset me. I really really want a Euro, but I've never found one 8lb or under. I just can't do anything heavier these days.
  10. I've sold one pedal now so I'm a third of the way there!
  11. Could get mates to ship the Joe Dart bass - that one really does look like a $500 bass!
  12. Why the smeg isn't the SLO neck a standard option? Also: mates - yes. Money at the moment.... errrrrr! I'm trying to plan a major birthday purchase with some saving up time.
  13. Could be I suppose. I really like the look of them - especially as the new Stingray Specials have increased the nut width to the point where I don't want one (gutted - I was really looking forward to the new lower weight). But knowing my luck the Fenders will be too heavy. It's not like they will be churning out enough to increase the odds of some super light woods.
  14. The Fender Active Flea bass: https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/electric-basses/jazz-bass/flea-signature-active-jazz-bass/0192602728.html The Fender Active Flea Bass (INTERNATIONAL) https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/electric-basses/jazz-bass/flea-signature-active-jazz-bass-international/0192612728.html The first has the Aguilar preamp. The international one is more expensive and only has a Fender preamp. The international model is more expensive too! Why on earth would they not fit the same preamp?
  15. I'm thinking of getting a Warmoth body and a Status neck to assemble something a bit different. Can anyone tell me what the back of the neck is like on the Status-Graphite jazz necks? The reason I ask is that I've had some old Status basses that I loved, then I had a modern one and the neck shape had changed dramatically - the new one was very much a D shape neck that was really quite square and felt like it had 'shoulders' rather than a gentle curve. Do the Jazz necks have that or are they like an actual jazz bass would be? thanks.
  16. This is great. I've been thinking about one of the Ibby Mezzo 32 scale basses - 5 string. Need to sell a few pedals to raise the money.
  17. I've got a pair of Yamaha HS7 and I love them. Great sound quality, more than loud enough - I use them as my main home amp with my Helix now. Very revealing too - amazing how much I didn't hear with my crappy logitech speakers.
  18. Nothing. It's all part of the tool box. Same as using a plectrum if the song needs it.
  19. I’ve got one of them and it’s great. Can do all on, just P, or just J. Js have a balance so by selecting the bridge can have a trad PJ too.
  20. Very bright, really do sound like rounds and stay bright quite well too. They did go through a phase of having some dodgy quality control but I don’t know if they’ve fixed that now.
  21. Or both. Might as well while the router is plugged in!
  22. The Seymour Quarter Pounder doesn’t sound like a P. too much bass and too little mids. Horrible for P sounds, but a good option for others sounds.
  23. I’m self employed too. Emails are reviewed in working hours. Bank holidays and weekends are not working hours. Separation between work and home life is important.
  24. National Holiday for VE Day and a weekend? Are you available to work emails 24 hours a day?
