1.
Is my technique awful or does that session guys wrist look very 'off angle'?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. And I can't understand demoing a five string without playing the B string much!
 2. The Gotoh 201 bridge uses the same holes as the bridge you are replacing and is a bit more substantial. I've used them on some of my basses and found the only other adjustment you need to make is a neck shim. There is a really good thread on how to do that here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/49897-how-to-shim-a-neck/page__st__60__p__1846625__hl__neck%20shim__fromsearch__1#entry1846625 Cheers Leon

 4. I have a Modern Player Jazz and do like it a lot. Every Modern Player I have tried, be it a bass or guitar, has been good. Finishing on the frets has been great and good tones are easily accessible. My only issue is the high gloss neck finish which feels plasticky to me after playing my MIMs, but some people prefer that kind of finish.
 5. I presume these are Chinese like the other Modern Player basses and guitars.
 6. Taking my 14 year old son tomorrow, his second ever gig (RHCP last year was his first). I promised I'd take him as soon as they announced, so QotSA, Motorhead and Alice in Chains are a bonus!
 7. Thanks for all the interest, deal made for an trade!
 8. I'm actually more interested in a trade for a Fender Jazz than money, so both parties end up a winner!
 9. Up for sale/trade is this recently acquired Warwick Vampyre Ltd bass made in 2004. Unfortunately the neck is too big for me as I am so used to playing Jazz basses, it is proportioned more like a Precision bass. Specs:

Neck-through-design, 4 String, Swamp Ash body with Quilted Maple top, Flamed Maple neck, Ebony fingerboard, Bass Clef inlays, Scale length 34", 26 frets, Active MEC J/TJ pickups, Active MEC 3-way electronics, Warwick tuners, 2-piece Warwick bridge, Black hardware, Just-A-Nut

The bass is well [s]used[/s] loved, with some dings and scratches shown in the pictures below, but the neck is great and all hardware and electronics working perfectly.

I am looking for £700 delivered, but would prefer some form of Fender Jazz Bass with a cash adjustment if necessary.

Thanks for looking!

10. Nope, it's going to have to go. Been playing it all afternoon and after all those years of playing skinny necked jazz basses this feels as uncomfortably big as my Precision's neck (which I don't play either!). Shame because it sound's great.
 11.
i dunno, but i will buy the tablecloth
I would make a comment about the tablecloth and my ex-wifes taste, but that would only reflect badly on me!
 12. I don't think he knew, but he thought "it might go for a little bit more". In all fairness, I don't have a clue what it's worth either, but I'm sure it's more than £55! Any ideas?
 13. Picked it up this morning, few dings and scratches but neck straight and hardware all working. Not bad for £55 from the 'bay.
 14. Really sad and shocking news, I had assumed he was getting better and would be returning to Slayer. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
 15. Sad news. I remember going to see Maiden at Earls Court in 2006 with my sister who was on crutches, so we were in the disabled access section and sat next to Clive and his wife during the gig, chatting frequently. A genuinely nice guy, very humble and still held in great affection by the fans, as demonstrated by the "Clive" chants from nearby fans. My thoughts are with his family, especially Mimi who cared for him during the MS. RIP Clive
 16. My Precision never gets a look in any more, mostly because the band I'm in constantly change from standard to drop D tuning and the Jazzs both have de-tuners. Rather than sell it, I could just get another de-tuner I suppose...
 17. Mine are probably The Number of the Beast (Iron Maiden) and Blood Sugar Sex Magik (RCHP). 16th note galloping grooves!

 19. Apart from me, there's always Lemmy!
 20.
That's good your set up is what I'm initially aiming for but I'm starting with the 4210, is it good and loud by itself?
The 4210 is loud enough on it's own usually, it's just so I don't have to bend down to adjust the tone! Actually, the 1x15 extension cab adds a bit more bottom end, but I've only ever really needed it for large gigs with no PA support.
 21. I've been using an MB4210 and MBC115 for a couple of years now and never had any problems with either of them. My understanding is the initial batch had some problems with overheating and blown crossovers, but they appear to have sorted it now.
