    in my opinion no. Squire VM do sound awesome for the price and more than do a fine job. Of course it is just and only me.

    Yes played a Sire, much cheaper.... I have to admit that at that price its probably more than PERFECT basses...... does what a fender does + a decent pre amp

    they do what a fender does ... efficient and simple tone... as Miller says "They are good meat and potato basses, i can pick up one and do any gig with it" and for something like £800 cannot go wrong....
