He's in the best possible place to get better, now that the docs know he's got a problem, and I'm sure he'll be swearing at you for telling drummer jokes for many years to come mate.

Got to say that I don't really see it working. There's a world of difference between singing or playing along to a recording and working with a live band.
Yup, I got the Chinese knock-offs!
Not a problem - as long as they make and maintain a good contact with the PCB then it makes no difference in this application.

Well in my world I'm still seeing Lee Van Cleef smuggling MIA's into Mexico on donkeys and an inordinately large number of sombreros giving chase... (Note to Ped - can I have a sombrero smiley..?)
Interesting. But the Roadworns are MIM, AMD nothing from their is nitro finished. The Highway ones are though, and are only over the boarder.
I'm only guessing. ...but from purely business and logistical perspectives, it's certainly what I'd be doing. Perhaps there are unmarked lorries crossing the border at the dead of night...
Simple and effective, I wonder how many manufacturers have actually twigged with this?!
All of the ones who do 'off the shelf' reliced guitars I'd imagine. They can't sell 'flawed' guitars without impacting their brand image and refinishing them probably takes more time than running an unfinished one down the production line. It's sensible business practice to ensure that the production line throughput is proportionate to the number of instruments they are able to sell and a 'refinish' will slow down production.

How would you approach bass if you had only one finger on each hand?
Can't believe nobody has said this yet...... But I still have my thumbs...... Woo Hoo I can still do some slap
It's bad enough contemplating losing all but two fingers let alone having to endure a lifetime of slap on top of that... -
People say you would cope, because you have to, but those people aren't like me, they don't consider suicide a viable option. And I think that's what I'd prefer. In this day and age you don't need legs to see the world, but to not be able to pick up a book and turn its pages... Or scratch an itch...
It really boils down to the value each of us places on different things and the way a limb loss impacts on those values. Until we are unfortunate enough to end up in that position, we don't even know what the question is let alone decide on an answer. -
FOUND IT !!!! They are called 5.08mm pitch connectors / 2-pin. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300929427722?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I wish my amp had come with two of these. But, it didn't. $5.5 to this guy in China + a bit of soldering should do the trick.
A bit late in the day now, but I believe those are copies of the KK series MOLEX connectors. They're really designed to be crimped so be careful not to overdo the solder on them or you'll struggle like hell to get the insert into the housing.

It's only the end of your world if you let it be. My grandfather lost both his legs above the knee as a recently married '20 something'. Never stopped him from getting the most out of his life for another 60+ years. -
Hmmmm. I think if I was a savvy manufacturer I'd be 'relicing' any basses off of the production line that were cosmetically flawed. Nice business model where you can sell off your 'rejects' for more than the prime model.
So the thing is that those posts do not show up when I click on my profile and then on my content. But they are still listed as they should in forums. So all good, thanks.
The 'My Content' pane has been reported as 'not working' by some people whilst others have no problem with it. I'm guessing that it's another facet of the browser issue.

Tribute Bands - don't the active "original" band get miffed?
icastle replied to ben604's topic in General Discussion
I was at a folk festival a few years ago and heard a familiar tune being played. It wasn't until they hit the chorus that I recognised it as one I'd recorded with a band way back in 1986. It was a good version and I was very flattered that someone thought enough of that tune that they wanted to cover it. -
Script errors are a real pain in the posterior. If they're not universal (i.e. not every user gets them even though they are using the same browser) then the chances are that either your browser has a security setting 'checked' that prevents the script from running or you have another piece of software (a software firewall or AV package perhaps) which is preventing the script from running. Web browsers use different ways of processing 'scripts' and sometimes the latest version of a browser won't work with software that was released prior to the browser becoming available to test against. IE10 (which I use) has some annoying traits due to the above. The other thing to consider is the number of 'steps' that data has to go through before it arrives at your browser. If I do a traceroute back to basschat.co.uk, I go through 13 external hardware devices before I get to BassChat - any one of which may or may not be faulty, badly setup or congested. We don't all use the same route to get to BassChat. For the terminally nerdy, if you want to see where the 'slow bit' is, open up a 'Run' window and type CMD and then press [ENTER]. In that black window type tracert basschat.co.uk and press [ENTER] You'll be presented with a readout (it takes a minute so be patient) showing the hardware that your traffic is being passed through and a time (in ms). The bigger the number, the longer your traffic is taking to get through it. I bet the biggest numbers are before you even leave the UK.

I personally wouldn't have thought that the standard PC jumpers were actually man enough to run mains voltage through.

My main band is another one with a back catalogue of about 100 and we also learn specific 'requests' for weddings - sometimes they stay sometimes we just never play them again. We probably add about three or four per month just to keep the set fresh and up to date.

I'm playing one tonight as well. The weather has been absolutely fab all day and it's gonna be a warm night as well. Just relax and go with it you'll be fine... -
