1. Aria ProII SB900 - still got it along with it's original hard case.
 2.
linseed - like raw tung oil, will not dry properly unless it is boiled and treated with dryers, I don't know if neat linseed from DIY outlets is the right thing to use.
My local B&Q does both plain linseed and boiled linseed.
 3.
Aw cripes, I'd love to play for Kate Bush! (notice I said "for"...)
We noticed what you said but know what you meant...
 4.
Dont get me wrong, i love em but FFS whats that saying about every young bass player in a commercially successful band, sheep or what?
Why should it be so surprising that there are so many of them in use? Fender have been knocking these out for over 50 years now and will probably still be knocking them out long after many other manufacturers have disappeared. It's not about their customers being sheep, it's about supplying what their customers will buy.
 5. Not come across that one before. You could make your own of course. Linseed Oil is easily available from most DIY shops and Lemongrass Oil is used in aromatherapy (you might find it in a well stocked chemists or there are plenty of places on the internet). I'm guessing that there's not a lot of Lemongrass oil in that mixture (it's rather strong smelling) - probably just enough to dull down the smell of the Linseed. Not very scientific but you could pour some linseed oil into a jam jar and add the lemongrass one or two drops at a time until it smells roughly the same as the tin.
 6. From a practical point of view, flight cases need to be stowed somewhere once you've taken the contents from it. You might get lucky and find a space on the side of the stage you can use, but my experience is that you have to do a load of repeat visits to the van to get them out of the way (and then bring them all back in after the gig). So, potentially you might be hefting that flight case about 4 times per gig! The advantage of using a rack is that the kit is permanantly housed in it and you just stick it on top of your speaker(s), take the front and rear covers off and away you go. I've never tried out the padded case type ones but to my mind they only provide scuff protection - drop it and you're going to get damage. I've always used those plastic racks with no problems at all but last year decided to try out a more traditional wooden\aluminium type one. The plastic ones still look good after nearly 6 years, but the wooden one looks tatty already...
 7.
Let's start a trend of non musician endorsements for our basses. I have a MIM 5 string that needs to be a Natalie Portman model. How about a Carl Sagan Precision? A Bob Fosse Jazz Hands? When I refinished my old Tokai I made a Phender logo for it. Mock the sheep!
I already have a Les Dawson Sig. Jazz Bass...

 17.
Hi fellas, Yes I know it doesn't get much simpler than this, but I'm just wondering if I've managed to cock it up!? I bought new pots, cap, wiring and p'up for my Precision and wired it up as per these instructions; http://www.ehow.com/how_7156347_wire-fender-bass.html Sounds fine, except the controls work anti-clockwise! I've checked and re-checked looked at other wiring diagrams but don't seem to locate a problem, so am thinking I could have been sold dodgy pots, or is there something else I'm missing completely? Can anyone who knows about lecktrickery shed any light? Cheers
That's easy enough. On the back of the pot you have three contacts. The middle one is OK so leave that one as it is. The outer two need to be wired the other way round - so whatever you have got attached to the left hand contact needs to go to the right hand contact and vice versa.
 18. I'm a simple soul. For me, if it feels right and sounds right then it is right.
