The only crimpers worth using is the ratchet ones IMO. Those flat steel ones You can do a better job with a pair of pliers.
Yep. Pretty much the case IME. The only thing I find usefull about those flat plate ones is their ability to shorten bolts.
It's about time people just said NO to this sort of thing and claimed back their civil liberty to be able to travel around the country unhindered by privacy-invading bureacracy. This should be our RIGHT and it should be government's job to make it EASIER for people, not harder. We need fewer laws and fewer restrictions over our lives, not more.
+1 The problem being that you can't actually get rid of a political party and put an alternative one in place. As soon as one side sees a money making/control gaining idea, it'll want a slice of the action when it gets to play, regardless of what 'promises' it makes to get into power.
I suspect this is a lost leader to make us all angry and then they will say "ok we won't do it then" and we will all feel better whilst they sneak something else in whilst we are talking about this.
You're nearly as suspicious as me mate...
Yep, this is why I think all cars should pay a road tax regardless. An electric car is more road damaging than a bicycle, yet neither pay road tax.
Ah. But you're working on the assumption that road tax pays for road maintainance.
That would be Fujitsu
Yep. But they were managed by the government. Left to their own devices I'm sure they'd have got it to work, but add ministerial input and you end up with a white elephant with no trunk and seven ears...

Those are bog standard M6 cage nuts. They only seem to come in larger quantities. If you only need a few then PM me and I'll stick some in the post for you, I've got hundreds of them sat here in my spares box.

The concept of reduced revenue from lower road tax for 'greener' cars was sold on the basis that it was reducing our carbon footprint. Taking that concept through it's next logical step, the tax on higher emission cars is theoretically being used to buy carbon credits. As there's no way that a system working along those lines can become unbalanced (if, of course, it's been properly worked out and administered), the only logical conclusion is that the government are relying on road tax as a form of income. Reducing fuel costs? That'll be one of those empty promises used to sell the black box and will never come to fruition. No government is ever just going to give money back, it'll just find ever more inventive ways of wasting it. As has already been mentioned, speeding tickets can (read that as 'will') be issued by default and with no mechanism to appeal ('it's on the computer, there's nothing I can do about it'). Also, if you know where all cars are 24 hours a day, you've got another great excuse to reduce police numbers. Another government con, plain and simple. I wonder which ministerial lacky is getting a back hander from one of his mates to push this through? On the plus side, the hurdles to implement this system are going to be absolutely enormous. Leaving aside the disinclination of the educated public to buy into another set of promises from a bunch of self serving slimey weasels, you've got to get a secure black box into every car, get a reliable reverse feed from Galileo (which isn't even working yet anyway) and that's before you even think about implementing an IT infrastructure capable of managing such a system. We're talking about a bunch of hopeless no brainers who couldn't implement a joined up NHS IT system, ID Card system or even a comparatively small Biometric Passport system...
That in itself would make a great folk song - the only problem is one of us would have to die by the others hand before we found out we were brothers.
Actually, one bit of my occasionally dingy family history almost fits the bill there anyway. My great grandparents were from a Welsh mining village and decided to seperate. Divorce was unheard of in those days and it was all 'played down' - Mum and two daughters moved to one end of the village, Dad and one daughter went to the other end. It was never spoken of again. It was some 60 years later that my Gran bumped into a woman at a funeral and was chatting about people they both knew. Turned out it was her sister - the parents had never told the kids they had siblings!

my new bass doesn't like most of my leads

You'll find people describing the plugs as '6mm', '6.3mm', '6.5mm', '6.35mm' and '1/4'. In real terms, the connector doesn't have to be that accurate - if a maximum difference of 0.35mm is going to stop it from working, then it's busted anyway. However, if you think about the logistics of manufacturing plugs, how likely is it that a jack plug machine manufacturer is going to bother offering all of those sizes? -
One of the first singles I ever bought was "Super Womble". I also went on to discover the delights of Steeleye Span, The Albion Band & Fairport Convention and many others, music I still love to this day. Weird. Time for a serious Wombles retrospective at Cecil Sharp House methinks.
I'm starting to suspect that we were either seperated at birth or one of our parent's had a bike...
I've mentioned this before but everyone seemed to disagree and I'm probably wrong but I'll say it again for fun. Leads are either 6mm or 1/4" (6.35mm)
OK. How we gonna do it this time? Should we tell him in alphabetical order or do we take tickets and wait for our number to be called..? -
That was Clapham Common, not Wimbledon Common...
All far too common I reckon...
Nah, that was just discreet Wombling free. :-)
So if he had Womble free, where was the other one? (You might have to read that a couple of times... )

Same problem here, just logged on for the first time today and no notifications of any description. EDIT: Ignore that. Added "] to the safe senders list and not have an inbox full.

That's Danny Thompson playing bass unless I'm very much mistaken. Very nice.
Edit: And had to go to east London by tube and train today, so went underground/overground.
For all the p*ss taking, it's gratifying to see so many people knowing so many of the words...
Dammit, I wanted to make that joke!
No problem. Get a large canvas bag with a W on it and make good use of the jokes that you find, things that the everyday folk leave behind...
Steelye Span in "drag"! Honestly! I've heard both Mike Batt and Maddy Prior tell the story of how it came to pass.
I know! There was a thread here about early musical influences, and I'm not sure whether people were most amused or horrified by my initial revelation that The Wombles were my first influence or whether it was my transition to Steeleye Span that finished my fellow posters off. I did try to explain 'how' the transition was a pretty obvious one but I'm pretty certain that I could hear laughter... Still, I get the last laugh now as you all sort out your glass, tins and paper into seperate bags for recycling...
A Womble playing an all-black Rick! I've wanted one of those for years, but I think I'm cured now!
You have to sit very quietly on Wimbledon Common if you want one of those...

As far as I can see, the 715 combo is based around the AH600-7 - it's just been slotted into a larger sized case. Your biggest problem is going to be finding a case to slot and secure the amp head into - I don't think they're a 19" standard that the Gator cases use. You also need to be a little bit inventive on the rear casing as well - your amp won't be happy in an unventilated case.

I use a WCA115 as part of my 'big' rig and am perfectly happy with it apart from the weight (and the pathetic castors they ship with). I don't think you're going to notice any appreciable difference by swapping out your Ashdown cab for another Warwick though.
