As the title says, any one got a tab for this? Preferably the Marvin Gaye version rather than the James Taylor one, although I imagine they're similar. Amazing for such a legendary song (and bassline) that I can't find one on the net Thanks in advance
Surely they are more clued up to realise this is a very very niche product?! Where is the LM4 or an improved F500?
Hey if it aint broke...

Markbass LMT troubles - what to do/who to contact?
danhkr replied to alstocko's topic in Amps and Cabs
You could try these people: http://www.proaudioe...hull/yorkshire/ I should make it clear that I have no experience of them or their service.
I'd go with real electronics as others have said they're an authorised Markbass service centre. I think these proaudio guys mainly do DJ/PA stuff. -
Wow, a lot of hate for stuff on here. Maybe it was all broken! I know Carlsbro are about as fashionable as Noel Edmonds, but the ones I've used in rehearsal dives etc I could always get a good solid if basic tone out of. Also Ashdown have a hell of an artist roster, so they must be doing something right, no? Not heard too many people comment on important factors such as reliability, value for money and sufficient volume for the wattage - are people mistaking 'not to my taste' as 'bad'?

P with J neck ? Fender/Squier vs Warwick vs G&L vs ???
danhkr replied to hamfist's topic in Bass Guitars
I've got an early 90's MIJ Fender P-Bass Lyte which is active with P/J pickups and a J-style neck. Lovely basses these and as the name suggests, very very lightweight as well. -

Really good. Always like to see a player who knows 'how' to play not just 'what' to play. Very impressed.

Definitely sounds like he's specifically chosen it off his own back then and not just been approached by the company. It's surprising how many 'pro's' will use whatever gear their agents/labels get for them.
-
Good coup for them I reckon. Their endorsees tend to be more 'session-related' bassist types, so no doubt this will give them more commercial appeal. Also heard from a few sources that they don't give anything away, so if you see an artist using Markbass on stage, apparently they've paid for the privilege.

agreeing a sale on ebay before the auction ends
danhkr replied to PaulWarning's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I'm fairly certain ebay doesn't actually have access to messages sent between members. I'm not sure it's ethically correct for them to be able to snoop on their users PM's, so I doubt they would find out from them unless one party 'grassed' and forwarded the message to ebay themselves. Between them, ebay and paypal take nearly 15% these days, so rightly or wrongly it doesn't surprise me one bit that people cancel sales or end items early to sell them unofficially. -
just looking at the pics of your amp its in a different cab to mine, it looks like its in a ctm100 box i guess it has a smaller footpront which is cool, mine is the size of a 2x10!
Hmmm, not sure. I did try one in a shop before I ordered mine and I don't recall any difference. Mine measures 35cm front to back, how does that compare with yours?
That's more than a bit naive. They are moving production so they can keep their previous margins, not to make the bass cheaper to the punter.
I'd say it's more than a bit naive to believe they're not hoping to make a few more quid on each one by moving production to mexico.

Thanks for your comments. To be honest if I had the time available to meet people to try it etc, I'd do it at home. Anyway, I'm bumping this with a price drop to £1150. I'm not not particularly overjoyed at losing around £500 on an amp I'm actually loathed to part with, but despite it's condition, warranty and little use, it's still a second-hand amp and the price should reflect this. Also a few things have cropped up and the cash whilst not critical, would be useful. I've had a few interesting trade offers, but I'm not really looking for any more gear at the mo. If it's not saleable on here for that price, I probably will hang on to it because I know I'll regret selling it later.

I've had a few PM's expressing an interest in the amp and a couple of them said that it's a lot of money to shell out without trying the amp first. I totally appreciate that and knew from the start it would make people weary, so if it helps, I'm more than happy to give any buyer a weeks approval. I understand there'd be a cost to send it back, but I'd imagine through a good value site like Interparcel it'd be offset by the saving in fuel and time from avoiding a round trip to see it.
Are these like a scaled up Little Bastard?
I guess if you think they're both Ashdown, both valve and both have a pretty straight forward EQ section, than yes I guess there are similarities. However, I'm pretty sure it'll be a totally different circuit and the radically different power valves make it a different beast altogether.

Nowhere Man is a personal favourite of mine. Bizzarly he's probably the most underrated bassist ever, yet happened to be a brilliant, brilliant player in pretty-much the biggest and most highly-rated band of all time. I guess when people think McCartney they think great singer, great songwriter. Very few realise he was a virtuoso on bass as well.

Look interesting but is it me or do the foot-switches look a bit too close to the controls on a couple of them??
Have they reduced the price accordingly? I'm guessing not....!
This is the key really. These days MIM classic series stuff is pretty-much on par with similar styled MIJ guitars such as the Geddy Lee. I'd be pretty confident if they are now MIM that the quality will be virtually indistinguishable, but as MIJ instruments seem to be so expensive these days, I'd certainly expect the price to drop. Production cost will be the reason for moving production, so it'd be a bit 'off' of Fender to not pass some of that saving onto the consumer.
