I don’t really fancy reporting my own posts! 😆 Is there a way to change your account email address at all?? -
For sale is my Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 3EQ from I believe 2010. I hesitate to say ‘as new’ in case there’s something I’ve missed, but it looks pretty much immaculate to me. USA made obviously, finish is Tobacco Sunburst and it looks, plays and sounds fantastic. Weight according to my scales is 8.85 lbs or 4kg which in my experience is light for a Stingray. Comes with the original Musicman hard case too and still has the ‘case candy’ pack with the wipes etc. Due to current family circumstances and work commitments, unfortunately collection would be difficult, so price includes insured UK shipping and the bass will be securely packaged. I do have my eye on another bass, so trades are unlikely, but I do like AVRI Jazzes Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks

Me neither…just out of my price range. Maybe he’ll stick some of his y-fronts on there for a bit less 🙏

Which is why I added the ‘by that logic anyway’…but seriously, nevermind ☮️

I was being sarcastic

Which in turn are just a rebadged MIM Std series being produced in the USA. By that logic anyway…

Individual guitars should be judged on their own qualities as you can get great and not so great versions of the same thing. The classic vibes are generally really good, but the vintera should be better…better woods, nicer finishing, better electrics, tone, and if it’s important to you, more period accurate aesthetics. The aged/roadworn/relic’d thing is something you either like or dislike, but you won’t get it on a squier unless it’s a used one that’s had a really tough paper round. That said, it’s certainly the law of diminishing returns…it ‘should’ be better, but is it £800 better? As others have said, proof is in the pudding; give them both a try.

Hi all, I’m after a single vintage style bridge saddle for a roadworn jazz. Doesn’t have to be ‘roadworn’, but nickel would be good. They’re not listed on Fender’s site and the only ones I can see are on eBay, reverb etc and are in the US. Also they appear to just be the saddle and I could do with the grub screws, screw and spring as well ideally. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get hold of one? Thanks in advance

Disappointing new bass day...I would appreciate some opinions.

The ‘prototype’ thing is a bit vague…can you clarify at all? If this is a prototype, but one he has built at your request, that is something that should’ve been agreed between you prior to construction. That should involve him informing you where there might be issues eg. ‘Jazzmaster style electrics on a bass being unorthodox’ or ‘the colour might not turn out exactly how we think’ etc. That said, if he has built it from scratch for you, that in no way would excuse the scratches and finish imperfections. The only way you could excuse these as a ‘prototype’ is if it was an instrument he had previously built for testing purposes and it had seen some use before you decided to buy it. -

Reduced to £300 inc UK shipping. For sale is my Aguilar GS112 with tweeter. The cab is in great condition with no damage and comes with a (very) basic cover. I’m also selling my DB112 (see other listing). These are fantastic cabs but I’m not gigging so can’t justify keeping hold of them. Price includes UK shipping as work/family commitments make it really difficult for me to be around for meets/collections. Any questions, give me a shout

price reduced to £325 inc Uk shipping. For sale is my Aguilar DB112 with tweeter in Monster Green tolex. The cab has a few superficial battle scars (see pics) but in otherwise good fully working condition. I’m also selling my GS112 (see other listing). These are fantastic cabs but I’m not gigging so can’t justify keeping hold of them. This one comes with a fitted padded Hot Cover. Price includes UK shipping as work/family commitments make it really difficult for me to be around for meets/collections. Any questions, give me a shout

Excellent condition 2014 Gibson Midtown Signature Bass. Finished in Bullion Gold and featuring a chambered mahogany body with maple top, Grover tuners, 3-point adjustable bridge, vintage style T-Bird mini and plus pickups, 34" scale, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Hardly used and comes complete with original Gibson hardshell case. Purchased recently on here from Isabass for £730 and would like to get that back so price is firm and I'm not interested in any trades. Hopefully she won't mind me using her pics Fantastic and very cool bass, only selling because band it was intended for has folded. Can't really do collection due to work commitments, so happy to include UK shipping in with the price. Give me a shout for overseas and I'll see what I can do. Any questions, PM me. Cheers
My thoughts on this bass is that it's classic Fender QC once again, a few absolute diamonds likely the equal of some Pre-CSB instruments (and it sounds like a few folks on here have been lucky enough to get such examples), a few absolute dogs equivalent to the worst of the late '70s (which mine was, heavy, lacking in resonance, misaligned and faulty), and the vast majority sitting between those extremes, many of which are no doubt very playable and decent instruments. What I should have mentioned in my post was that after the PUP stopped working I took off the control plate to have a look. I did so VERY carefully. I've never seen such poor soldering, I'm not great at it but even my solder joints look infinitely more tidy and functional than did those in my bass. Guess what, while I had the circuit out, ANOTHER WIRE DROPPED OFF A POT, JUST DROPPED OFF!!! It was shocking and explained entirely why the front PUP had stopped working in the first place. Two wires off pots in less than 20 minutes from new! I dread to think what else was going to happen had I kept it I doubt I'll ever buy another new Fender. The lack of respect they must have for their customers to let such instruments through QC is quite incredible.
Weird. Mine is absolutely spotless.
