1.
Could do one set as ACDC and the second as LZ. There might be a decent number of people who are fans of both?
That's exactly what we are considering, not sure whether it will work though.
 2.
Can I suggest AC/LZ as your name?
I like!
 3. My new covers band acquired a new singer last week and during our first session together, he said he can do Bon Scott and Robert Plant, we all thought, yeah right! So we burst into Whole Lotta Of Rosie followed by Rock & Roll, and he absolutely nailed them both, so we are now considering being a Tribute band for both, as well as doing covers under another name.
 4. Learn't a few chords about 1961 aged ten, but was never really that good on guitar, and then I started listening to a lot of the early ska/blue beat, Otis Redding and Sam Cooke etc.. plus early Mowtown, and would just listen to the bass lines and think wow! then came the great rock bands with bassists like John Entwhistle, Jack Bruce, Ronnie Lane playing music I really loved, and that was it for me, I borrowed £15 off my older sister and bought a 2nd hand Burns Sonic bass at the age of 15, formed a band with a few mates, but we never ever gigged, I swapped the bass for some fishing tackle, and that was that until about eight years ago aged 55 when I was talked into playing bass for a make-shift band, I've been playing my bass ever since, and trying to make up for wasting about 45 years of my life.. I have played in bands ever since, but I just wish I had carried on from the beginning.
 5. Whilst camping with four mates in 1974, I pulled a girl one evening, went back to her place and returned to the tent three days later having spent a wonderful time with a beautiful young lady. The only thing that spoilt it was, she had just bought Tubular Bells and insisted on playing it for the whole three days!
 6.
We'll all tell you to buy what we've got/like. Both amps will do a great job. In the end, only you can decide the one that works for you - and a lot of it might well come down to the look/features/form factor at least as much as the sound.
you talk a lot of sense Alec. I think I will stick with the GB Shuttle 9.2, I know it's a great amp, I guess I'm just suffering from a bad case of GAS!!!
 7. Others might disagree, but I really like this. http://www.ebay.co.u...=p2056016.l4276
 8. I see someone has actually made a bid, just wondering what he is going to do with it!
 9. If only all sellers would be this thorough, no need for any lengthy description re condition, as you can see exactly what you are getting from the pics.
 10. I have been using a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 with 2 x Genz Benz Shuttle 2x10 cabs, and have been very pleased so far, but last week we rehearsed in a studio that was owned by our drummer's friend, and in there was a TC Electronic RH750 going through a TC Electronic RS212 cab and a RS112 cab, and I thought it sounded great. So I would be interested to hear the views of anyone who has tried both, and whether the TC Electronic RH750 would sound as good going through my two Genz Benz Shuttle 2x10 cabs, or would it need the TC Electronic cabs as well to get the best out of it?
 11.
Yet he still has a 100% positive feedback score. Wuh? J.
Yes, I noticed that too, how does that work?
 12. Oh Dear!!! Seller Refused To Send Item & Respond To Requests - Ebay Case Found In My Favour Not received , had to get refund from ebay !!!! Only received refund for one of the three items bought from this seller Never received item , no reply to emails
 13.
I'm getting obsessed with this, the serial numbers are wonky and I'm sure the tuners are wrong too. Oh dear, hope I'm wrong because somebody has bought it!
To be quite honest, that is why I started the thread, it just doesn't seem right, but I'm no expert so I'm sure it is fine.
 14.
Guitardater says 2005/2006. It did originally come up as unrecognised but I'd forgotten to select the country of origin!
Thanks
 15. I tried finding out which model it is by the serial number, but it came up as unrecognized.
 16. I thought the specials were later than 2005, could it be a Highway 1?

 18.
TBH, If, as the OP states, the seller is a member on here, I find it quite weird that you're all discussing this in public in the first place.
This! If a seller asks for a method of payment I don't agree with, I would not take it as a slight on me, I would just look elsewhere, and quite honestly, this should not have gone public, as I'm sure the BC'er who is the seller and has done nothing wrong, is going to read this thread sooner or later.
 19.
So it's been almost a fortnight, how you getting on with the T'bird?
Felt strange at first, completely different to all the other basses I have, but getting used to it more and more, and absolutely loving the tone, and of course, the looks of such an iconic bass. I will probably take it to rehearsal next week, so I should get a better idea how it sits in the mix, and how it feels on a strap for a few hours.
 20. My very first ever gig was headlining at Knebworth a few years ago! It was a posh 50th birthday bash at Knebworth Barns, although it is on the "real" Knebworth site.
 21. Not sure whether this has been posted before, but I have just spent an enjoyable hour on YouTube watching Allen Woody's Classic Rock and Blues Bass Instructional Music Video https://www.youtube....h?v=oDs6HRCwc1U
 22.
Well, you could tell her that you took one to the repair guy ..... and he's re-sprayed it for you too! Always keep an empty guitar box in the shed / garage etc Take it out of the house, struggling slightly - to make it appear as if the box is full ..... bring home the box, complete with bass inside And if the bass is being sent to you via mail simply discard your old box a day or 2 before the new bass is about to arrive, keeping the new box for your next NBD! Simples
It's being delivered tomorrow, I've tried to get her to go shopping with her mum for the day, but she doesn't fancy it, so I think I will just have to tell tonight about the new arrival.
 23.
The Classic Vibe series are outstanding quality, honestly! There are tests on youtube of guitars and basses Some of the tests are blindfold, and the players think they're playing US, and even custom shop instruments... £380 is perhaps a bit more than we're used to paying for something with a Squier logo on it But for the money, I think they are immense quality I'd say they stand up against anything £500 and over I've played a few of the newer Mex Fenders lately, and they're good - but not as good as the CV series IMO I've also played a couple of US basses, new and secondhand, and I think my Squier CV stands up to any of them Same for the VM series really - fantastic instrument for the money Great news thebrig - £120 for a great instrument - happy NBD to you Something of a bargain, I think - enjoy it and if the missus hasn't seen it yet, just convince her you've always had it, in the back of a cupboard somewhere lol
I can't keep using the same reasons for a bass that suddenly turns up, can I?
 24.
Hey, thebrig. Slow down man, leave some basses for the rest of us.
I know, that's THREE in a week! A Gibson Thunderbird, Gary Mac's 1975 Fender Precision, and now the Squier VM Precision. I think I have some explaining to do with the misses!
 25. I've literally just bought this VM Precision for £120 off of eBay, it was only listed for a few minutes before I snapped it up. Well pleased! http://www.ebay.co.u...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
