1. I've been made an offer for my bass without the case and to help me decide what to do, just wondered if anybody was interested in picking one up. It's a standard Liteflite - EBS is it (fits Precisions, Jazzes, etc)? Would be looking for FIRM £55 delivered or £45 collected from Leicester. JA
2. Hello folks, My dad wants to sell his Crafter BA400 EQ electro-acoustic fretless 4 so he can spend the cash on a Gitane gypsy-style guitar. Photos to follow, he had a new set of gold machines from WD Music after one of the original Crafter units fell apart and had a deep hard case custom made to fit by Freestyle at a cost of around £100. This is a lovely bass - I played it for a couple of acoustic gigs, but dad's not touched it since he got a 5 string and has decided now is the time to sell it. Asking price, to include the case, is £190 but if there is interest in the case and bass separately, I'm sure he'd split - £150 for the bass and £50 for the case. If it's a deal breaker, we could probably sort you out with a gig bag between us. Bass can be collected from me in Leicester or him in Redditch or Solihull. Any q's, drop me a line. Ta.
3. No it's not enough, especially if you want me to travel 27 miles. £575 is a fair price IMO and £550 to BC is what I would be looking for. Also, according to my map, Measham is only 19 miles from Leicester.
4. Right guys, back on a bass drought and my Strat has no interest currently (I didn't get it on ebay yet either) so I might as well put my bass up for sale. Probably a mistake as somebody will no doubt ask me to play some bass for them in the future, but since I left (or was I sacked from?!!) the last band I played bass in, I haven't taken it out of the cupboard and that was November. It's an 04 Fender American Series Precision Bass with S1 switch. Condition is good but has a few swirls on the forearm contour (if you've had one of these before, you know what I mean) and a tiny knock on the edge of each side of the fingerboard that have gone through the lacquer (treble side 13th fret, bass side 7th fret). The bass came to me with these and I don't notice them when I play it. There are a few light marks on the back, but again nothing to write home about and due to the fairly high gloss nature of the finish, difficult to photograph, unless you would like a mirror image of me looking through the camera lens. The pickguard at the jack socket has warped slightly and there is a little solder iron burn blem on the body, just west of the socket - again, the bass came to me like this and had apparently been done by a tech, but I was told about it beforehand and I expected it to be huge and stand out. It isn't and it doesn't - if you look at the pic, it's not much bigger than the nearest screw head and it doesn't stand out as much as the picture makes it look. I got it in a trade and I reckon it owes me just over £600 - the deal done with the previous owner meant that he kept his FMIC moulded case and I kept my Hiscox, so the bass is supplied with a good condition Hiscox. I've probably got a key for one somewhere if you want it. My asking price is £575 and I am in Leicester. I don't travel around much, but provided I don't have to come too far I'm prepared to meet halfway - say 50ish miles. Any further than that and it's more economical for me to pay for a courier to deliver it if you wanted to pay the insurance say (about a tenner for £500). I am not looking for trades at the moment, but would consider £450 and a set of suspension springs for a Ford Focus Estate Drop me a line if you would like any more info - I'd send you the last recording of the bass, but since I was kicked out, the band re-recorded the song with their new bass player
5. Sad to be doing this (again) but that's life. Next to go is my 98 3TS and maple USA Strat. Great condition, bit of fingerboard wear, but not a big issue for me. Very well set up with the trem locked down (I am not a big trem fan), original moulded case - excellent condition. Looking for £550, sorry no trades.
6. I have a surplus to requirements TU-2, in a box with the instructions. It is in rather fine condition and has only the merest of marks (3 or 4 tiny paint chips) and has never had any velcro applied. I keep kidding myself I need more than one tuner - it's nice to have a proper pedal tuner that's not on a board, but the number of times I actually need a tuner without plugging into my pedal board, I might as well just use a Korg CA-30 (or whatever it's called). [s] So £49 delivered if anybody is interested. Bank transfer or paypal gift.[/s] SOLD on ebay
7. I get plenty of emails that just ask for a price with no details of venue, music requirements, etc - I know immediately that we will be perceived to be too expensive and won't get booked. I am wondering if I should include a field on our contact form to include price expectation or budget - but I that may frighten people off. I respond to enquiries and never hear anything again and would stake our fee it is because we are considered expensive. I'm sure there are some bargains to be had, but equally I am sure you get what you pay for. Ah well!
8. If you get an enquiry for a gig and the get the old, "oh it's between you and another band" cobblers and a subsequent email that says, "just to let you know that we've decided to go with the other band", do you ever ask why/for feedback and more to the point, actually get a response? I've had two this year - not really that bothered but suspect it comes down to money (and us being more expensive) rather than anything else. Edit: I meant to add, on both occasions, I've responded with a polite question to ask what made their mind up in the end, as all feedback helps with future enquiries and helps meet our clients needs better, blah blah blah - I've not had a reponse in both cases (personally I think this is a bit rude as I make sure I reply to emails even if to acknowledge their receipt). Just wondered.

10.
Cheers John. The only way ill get it off is to hacksaw it. There is a gap just big enough but im not sure i could get the rest of it out. Might be able to use pliers to twist it out i guess. The other one went in fine so maybe i put the Horn one in at an angle. Maybe i could squeeze another washer under the button. It already has a nylon/plastic one there to protect the bass. At least another one would stop the button moving about. To be honest im happy to leave it as it is rather than make a mess of it and have to spend money (like buying a hacksaw).
You could drill the head out - I've done this 3 times and only really cocked it up once (but boy did I cock it up and it was a screw supplied with Dunlop Straploks too). If you can get a screw extractor into it or do what lozbass suggests, that's the route I'd go. If it's secure and in no danger of it falling out it should be ok.
11. Only one way to find out Dave. If it was me, I'd have it out one way or another and refit it - I buggered up the first Dunlop strap pins I ever fitted because the screws are bigger and you need to drill a hole big enough for the screw - it gives you the measurement on the back of the pack and it's something daft and American like 7/32". I ended up making a right mess trying to drill the screw off (a technique that had worked for me previously) and ended up having to take my LP to a tech who had to sort out the strap button and respray an area of guitar I'd fecked up. Good luck!
12.
Phone number begins 0113?
Leeds - where there is already a Music Ground (I think).
13. Everybody sorted? Being February you've got about 3 days left to take advantage of this (is this a leap year or not? I can't remember!).
14. Pete sold me a delay which turned up today - very happy at this end
15. I learned this for a gig about 3 or 4 years ago - I found it really hard and had to work it out by ear in the end because most of the tabs I found were wrong (remember these are mostly user submitted). I still don't think I got it totally right and as it was a one off, I've not played it since. If there's a bit you're struggling with specifically, let me know an I'll try and work it out.
