1.
City Music still lives on though...!
Yeah but it's not what it used to be. I remember when they used to stock all sorts of stuff - they had a big selection of Heritage guitars way back when, but the last time I went in there, which is only about 6 monhts ago, the fella behind the counter was more interested in talking to his mate about the local music scene than to sell me what I wanted - so I went elsewhere. Sad really

3.
I'm in Stafford so B'ham is a 40mins drive or a train away (when not shopping!) -- are the music shops there any good? I've been to "Reverb" it was quite good but I wasn't buying, we ended up there after a shop we were looking for (under the arches up the road, whose name I can't remember, sorry) had closed. This should be a good place to go, oui?
The Birmingham Bass Centre used to be under the arches on Livery St (along with another couple of shops that seem to be long gone).
4.
1st March opening day! http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/birmingham_shop.asp Address? Well, it's up by TGI Fridays I believe...
Hagley Rd?
5. Still got the two sets of pickups and the Keeley SD-1 5*. Would consider trades for other stuff - I don't know what so feel free to offer but don't be offended if I say no. I think I have found a delay and am awaiting a PM answer with some detail so would look at Boss ME-50, OC-3, PH-3, RMC Wah, Micro POG, Xotic RC Booster, E-Bow - possibly even a cheap guitar. Try me anyway - total trade value is abotu £150 - £160, but I'll split the items (not individual pickups though, they have to go as a set).
6.
....Lord of the dance.........
Which one's that Chris?
7. I think it depends entirely on what you think a rebel song is. Bear in mind that a lot of the political songs go back to the 16th Century pretty much up until 1969-98 and there's a lot of stuff I wouldn't play.
8. Still looking - there are definitely 2 gigs up for grabs and I definitely need somebody who can sing and play - good rhythm player is essential but not such a problem if you don't want to take lead duties.
9. Music Matter are the guys who have put this deal together - 40 quid for a GRAMMA and 65 quid for a Great GRAMMA using a discount code at checkout. PM me if you need the codes folks.
10. Is everybody who wants one sorted for one now? The offer is on until the end of Feb so you have another week or so to buy.
11. I think the Fallen Angel is voiced for a bit more gain and a more metal sound - probably uses a pair of 6L6s or EL34s run a bit hot to get a bit more gain. If he wants a bit less and wants an Ashdown it's worth looking at the old Peacemaker 40 if he can find one (which will also probably be UK made with a Cabtex cabinet). Laney's LC and VC30s are also very nice and can often be picked up cheap - there is a used but current model LC30 in Rattle and Drum in Derby for under £300 at the moment, which has to be a bargain

14. Not surprised at that price - that was proper cheap (got any more? )
15. This bloke has had the ad on for ages. The LP Classic with the seller saying "please understand I will not take less than £2500 for this guitar" (yeah right) seems a snip by comparison.
16. Well well well! I did kind of wonder that myself, but then thought....nah, surely not?! Who'dathunk it?
17. Bass was a Jap Fender P into a Peavey TKO 115. If I gig again on bass it will be with my USA Fender P through a Hartke loaded Ashdown Mini 15 and Ashdown ABM300 head. First gigging guitar setup was a Jap Strat through a Peavey Express 65w 1x12 - happy days! Now using a Mesa Express and usually a Les Paul or a Tele.
18. Just had a little bit of sick in my mouth there. Come on folks, back to normal please. I'M JOKING!!!
