I tend to use 'cheaper basses' when gigging in rowdy pubs. I no longer have to worry about getting beer thrown over an expensive boutique instrument. Both my Nate Mendel and 90's Squier bitsa are fitted with spb1 pickups, so I have the tone without the worry.

Then even do a bass version.

Always sitting down, although its a bit difficult on a leather recliner chair not to keep hitting the neck on the arms. I could never see myself standing up in the front room with a Fender Precision strapped on. I would feel such a pillock!

It may just be a 'place holder' while he puts a proper ad together.

This sort of thing is why I got a Limelight. I would never dream of gigging something like that down the Dog And Duck.

Funny you should say that. I have just had a look at my right index and middle fingers, and there are a few white flecks.

Apparently that used to make the bass easier to pick out in the mix when played at a faster speed.
