  1. It is, Deep Twilight or something if I recall? Nice bass, lovely woods and finish for the money. The Barts are the upgraded BH2 models, still quite dark sounding. Nothing the board doesn’t sort out nicely 🙂
  2. Wired up my newly acquired Temple Audio board yesterday, now to fill that space! 😂
  3. Bump. Haven't seen these cheaper than £117 new, bargainous and nothing quite like it!
  4. Bump. £155 shipped now, need this gone please. Can't believe its still here! Hardly ever come up used for a reason...🙂
  5. Yeah, I figure it must have been a bad unit. Like I say, I owned a Deep Impact for many years so know exactly how to get it to sound good, the FI just sound like what I could only describe as a effect modeller equivalent, with poorer tracking. Maybe I should give one another go.... I did catch the rehousing project @GisserD, huge improvement it seems!
  6. I need to give a FI another go. I bought one early days from Thomann, tried it, couldn't get a good sound out of it, sent it back after a few days. Awful to use, really fiddly dial (no notches, weird design choice?), and didn't track well. Couldn't replicate the DI tones I used to love. Have to assume from all the comments in this thread that mine must have been faulty?
  7. I think you are :) I'd say bass specific compressors have exploded in recent years!

  13. MXR Bass Blowtorch in great condition. Great synthy fuzz, perfect if you want to do the Muse thing on the cheap, capable of a lot more too. 18v power supply needed on this one bear in mind, batteries of course too. Price includes shipping.
  14. I’m just hoping that they take the almost universal feedback on the price on board and have a rethink, be it cutting costs in some way if the profit margin isn’t as high as everyone thinks it is, or something else. But the fact these basses are this price, made in Indonesia AND aren’t all coming out perfect is a real issue.
  15. Darkglass Microtubes X - great condition in box. Only selling following an upgrade to the X7 Darkglass Microtubes X Mutiband Bass Drive Pedal Distorting bass has always been a very challenging engineering endeavour. In order to achieve a punchy and aggressive distortion, that is also full and fat-sounding, you really need to reconcile two contradicting conditions. The tightness comes from attenuating bass frequencies before saturation, which will also result in a very thin signal, however boosting the lows can also result in additional, unwanted fuzz. To solve this paradox, audio engineers have been using multiband distortions in the studio for a few decades now. The Microtubes X is our solution to this issue, but in a very compact form and just right for your pedalboard. The audio is split by two variable low-pass and high-pass filters at the very start of the signal chain. The high-pass signal (mostly the mid and treble tones) is distorted using CMOS circuitry, just like our other Microtubes pedal circuits. The low pass-signal (all bass) is left untouched. This lets the high frequencies be all crunch, attack and full of rich harmonics, all while mixing back in the undistorted lows to add gargantuan size to the overall mix. The result is virtually unlimited fullness, size, aggression and definition, regardless of how old the strings are or even if your instrument is just boomy or thin sounding. The Microtubes X offers all of this in a compact form with very few controls to tweak, making it almost impossible to dial in a wrong tone.
  16. Price drop to £1,200, replacement purchased so need this shifting please
  17. Here are some pictures, specifics available on request 🙂
  18. No, I’m not sure I’m doing the right thing as this thing sounds unbelievable, but I prefer the feel of the Thumb and this is too much bass for a backup. Mehhhh. Trades, it would be pretty limited, Warwick SSII, possibly Thumb NT5, or a good solid NT 5 string with a tiny neck (Premium Ibanez or similar).
  19. Selling this outstanding Dingwall ABZ4 in a stunning black burst finish with the blackened head/heel option and active Glock pre. Lots of expensive extras on standard spec, Full blurb and Bass Direct spec: The new ABZ series from Dingwall brings together the brilliant fan fret technology with a more streamlined build that produces a Canadian hand made bass at a really good price. Lightweight easy to play, massive array of tones - this bass will take you to a new level of playability and tone. I will get more use out of another Warwick or a 5 so I’m being sensible. Its in good condition, Lettering fading on neck pickup and couple of small marks on the body that come naturally with use, but overall great and the neck/headstock is pristine. Comes with original gig bag. original bass direct sales page: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ABZ4_Blackburst.html Current photos available if interested, in the meantime my Instagram feed has a ton... http://www.instagram.com/kevinhidebass cheers! 12/03 reduced to £1,200 plus shipping.
  20. In the spirit of their typical 100% markup, did they really buy a bass off someone for over £6k?? I think not. No reason to see why its not genuine, but I bet a widow or otherwise vulnerable person has been fleeced here.
  21. Nope. But I’m holding out hope they’ll reconsider consider how far out they are with it.
  22. For me, yes. Sound, boring. Playability, A*
  23. Damn. I hate that I loved this so much!
