1. very good price, nice bass
2. red tinted series 2 wins it for me out of that lot, very nice
3. student loans cant be released yet surely, unless you have enrolled for your next year very early :S
4. the olp/status was okay, but i certainly preffered the sound of the stingray 5 with original neck, something about the olp just sounds a bit, well, cheap and im not mad about the feel of it, cant pin what it is. now they have swapped, obviously i think the 'ray is amazing, the olp again doesnt really get close to how the stingray sounded with its wooden neck, but its good enough i think. i have to say i HATE the olp bridge
5. the neck seems dead straight, i have the action at my usual 2-3mm and its great, spent a good hour or so getting the intonation right and now its just superb. truss rod needed loosening just slightly but thats all
6. fantastic, the tone difference was alot more than i was expecting, the bass has alot more growl (yup, a stingray with more growl!) and just pretty much everything sounds just..better! the harmonics of the sound are so much more pronounced, its just exactly what i want a stingray to sound like. i dont think il be buying another bass for a very long time iv stuck my stingray neck onto the olp and give that a quick setup too, doesnt sound too bad but sounds a bit cheap when compared to the statiray , it wont get played much but at least it gives the 'ray's old neck some use!

this guy sold me the bass part that has made me GAS free for the first time like ever! went and collected his OLP with status-graphite neck this morning, the neck is now fitted to my blue dawn stingray and is now the BEST bass i have ever played, and as far as im concerned i cant think of a possible situation of me having to ever sell it! the smile on my face would say it all thanks again mate
8. heres a taster of my stingray/status superbass full on porn pending sunlight and better camera...
9. is that a deliberate spelling backwards mistake
10. well im going to pick up the OLP bass with the status neck tomorrow, so fingers crossed il have a musicman/status stingray by the end of the day!
11. lol not at all nah as i said i could have got more for it on ebay, and indeed raised all the money for the olp/status bass, but instead i thought id try n make up for the contraversial fender incident
12. hey man, why dont you introduce yourself in the introductions forum, tell us a bit about what your all..about
13. he will certainly get it fixed i would think, hopefully it will be as simple as soldering the pot on i sold it on here for the bargain i bought it for as a good will gesture, i could have put it on ebay and got quite a bit more, hopefully might help try n change some peoples very low opinion of me on here
14. oh drink some grolsch
15. ahh this is the one i annoyingly missed out on last time, not really after a precision now though! seems a nice bass
16. i think you certainly wont get over a grand if you modify it, unless you do it so you can put it back to original spec when you sell
17. i think im on the verge of gettin one for my ray 5 from the classifieds, its gunna look bloody fantastic!
18. sorry mate iv already sold it in the sale section for what i bought it for
19. i dont think any warwick would sell for £1500, be it a stock model like this or the highest spec custom shop model, people just arn't prepared to pay that amount for a warwick at the moment. its a shame coz i bet its worth every penny
20. i think this is pretty much sold, had lots of interest but im just waiting for someone to confirm, not got back to me yet tho... just to let you know, though, i noticed that it was quite obvious why there was no sound, one of the jack connections was loose and was in contact with the led switch..... so i switched on the iron again and connected the cable so just to clarify, the bass does indeed work again, its just the tone pot that needs connecting
21. pm'd again...
22. pm'd, again
23. pm'd with shipping quote
24. read the full story here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=24852&st=0 and the pics here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=25063 as i said in the original topic i dont think id use the bass much even if i got the electrics fixed, it wont uproot my stingray. When i was making my half arsed attempt at soldering the pot on last night, i did manage at one point to get it to work (sounded very good too), and so that kinda proves that everythin else in there should be okay, and that its just a few loose connections. il sell for what i bought it for, £204 + shipping. in all likliness its gunna take 5 mins with a soldering iron to fix it, but i personally aint touching one again after how stressed i got last night (no idea how annoying it is to get it working and then lose it!), so im willing to pass on the ebay bargain on here. The bass retailed for £850 i think back in the early nineties when new, and the led's would have cost more to install than what im selling the bass for anyways! let me know if theres any interest
