1. More prone to interference from external sources.
 2. An instrument with a quality of construction, fretwork etc that'll allow a low action has got to be good. Whether a player likes a low (whatever that is...) action is another matter.
 3.
I have thought about it though, the most compelling argument so far has been to show I've taken reasonable steps to avoid injury/damage.
The most compelling argument i've encountered, for having my/our gear PAT tested is that there are occassions when I/we won't get to do the gig if we don't comply...
 4.
Also, Berhinger do a cheap limiter/enhance, is it worth trying, or is it as cheap and nasty as the price suggests?!
I've a Behringer BLE100. It's far better than I expected it to be and the plastic casing, which feels like it should have broken ages ago, is still intact.
 5.
Try it with an extension speaker,
I was thinking along those lines. Dodgy speaker, or the connecting cable. Does it have protection on the speaker outputs? Perhaps there's a faulty cable/connection that's causing a short circuit now and again (vibration perhaps) and tripping the protection circuitry? Just a thought...
 6.
Are you suggesting that Apple hardware is somehow a more 'known quantity' than PC hardware?
Of course The Apple OS knows exactly (with only a few known variations) what hardware components it'll be running on. Limited choice of supported motherboards (eg, no AMD CPUs), GPUs etc.
Even if that were true, what sort of application software has anything to do with the underlying hardware? Isn't that the job of the OS?
It was the OS that I had in mind.
 7. It's a 50 Watt amp, from 1979-83 ish. Has it had a replacement speaker?
 8.
Macs are essentially ,closed' systems, so Apple maintains strict quality control over all aspect of what's running on them. This is the main basis for their supposed reliability.
Not really. Anybody can write software for MacOS, but it's easier to write stable software, that works as intended, when the hardware it's to run on is a known quantity.
 9.
As I mentioned earlier, TKS are about to launch some new, and redesigned cabs. Tommy's just posted an example of the design for the new cloth-grilled 112, which has had the port moved to the rear. Yum.
Crumbs!
 10. It will. I'd have had this already if it were nearer. These older front ported ones sound much better than the newer rear ported jobbies IMO.

 12. Drop an email to Barefaced - see if you can pop along the coast to Brighton and try some of theirs?
 13.
BDI-21. £26.
Beat me to it.
 14. I looked at these deals a year or more ago and tried the various cab combinations. Seemed like a very good value for money deal - not sure of the current prices/deals though. My preference was for 2 x 210's, although I ended up buying something completely different.
 15. The Barefaced S12 is a (b****y loud) 4 Ohm cab.
 16.
I don't like the sound I get using one of my GK Neo 12 (too weak and not shifting enough air) but using both together I do.
Fair enough, but if I didn't like the inherent tone of a cab, I'd be extremely wary of adding the same again in the hope that it'd turn into something completely different.
 17.
Hi there, Yes my current cab is 8ohm. My original and long term plan is to have 2x10 (which I have) paired with 1x15 to sitting on the bottom, or possibly another 2x10 Pairing is definately the option as it makes everything a lot more transportable for me. The problem I have I guess is I don't like the sound of what I have at the moment and after using the head at a couple of gigs (with someone elses cab) I do think its the cab. A lot of it can probably be put down to the size of the cab but I thought that matching the cabs brand with the head may benefit me? Maybe Im thinking too much into it and another cab would sort my problem.
I'd have thought that if you don't like the sound of the cab, adding another would just give more of a sound that you don't like. Sell the cab - get something that you do like.
 18. 2 of 'em would get twice as much juice as the others. Apart from that...
 19. " 'Oi!, don't you play in that crap band with the really fit singer?"
 20. Technically, there's no real difference - an amp driving 2 cabs in both cases. Me - I'd just ask myself which sound I preferred, and whether it's worth lugging the Peavey around as well.
 21. Your 300W combo will only put out ~200W into a single 8Ohm speaker. Hooking the 2 cabs to the Peavey will give the full output and it'll almost certainly be louder, but mainly due to the extra speaker rather than the extra wattage.
 22.
subscribed, but I believe that the player has more impact on the sound than the brand.
+loads. At rehearsals, Guitarist usually just uses whatever's there, but he always sounds unmistakably Martin.
 23.
3. I really do like bacon sandwiches.
Absolutely. Bacon's not just for dessert...
 24. Mmm...it's a 1, not a 1A, and it's not neck-thru. Just saying... Could still be interested though, if it all goes pear-shaped with the other interested parties.
 25.
Ive only just learnt that OLP were a company in their own right....they made budget copies of other musical instruments.
Hmm...I've always thought that they were officially licensed by EB/MM to build thier budget 'Stingrays'
