1. like the bit at around 2'24" when your man starts looking out of the window thinking "I wonder what's for tea?". Some cool sounds out of those l'il boxes though.

here are my twins - Jazz all the way.
3. Russian muff and an Aguilar octamiser. Cor blimey guv'nor!
4. Thanks for posting these Scott, great resources.
5. true dat, but I've got the 'what if' going on in the back of my mind. Cable is supposed to have a 'skin effect' whereby the high frequencies travel on the outside of the conductor, so having a greater diameter would mean (if any of this is even half true) improved top end sparkle and presence. Sounds fine at the moment though.
6. I've got more pedals than most of the musicians that I play with regularly. I'm always the first one set up. It's just a question of knowing your gear and, more importantly, knowing why you've got a particular pedal and exactly what it does. Rehearsal is when everyone comes together to integrate what they've been doing in their own time away from band practice, not to 'tinker'.
7.
PM'd regarding the DHA.
Good man, I was toying with getting a second, but you've saved me loads of grief from Mrs_5. Thanks for jumping on that grenade.
8. "can you write some more songs but this time how about they sound a bit more like..." (insert latest media-whore-marketing-trend here). sigh.
9. ah knackers, here's another band that I'll have to get into and inevitably buy... Why is BC getting soooo expensive?
10. it'll work, but it might not sound the best. It's safer to do it this way round than to use a bass lead as a speaker lead.
11. Damnit, I've been using 2.5 out of my 1000W ampeg power amp into my Hartke cab. Now I have cable GAS! somebody tell me this is just 'bad science' and I don't need to upgrade my cable. Please...
12. awesome line(s) from Lee Perry 'nuff respec'
13.
Radio 1 are coming to Torbay next month. I'll be giving them a miss, and will make sure I keep my windows shut so I don't hear Chris Moyles shoot his fat mouth off.
Shooting Chris Moyles' fat mouth off - not a bad idea.
14.
i don't turn on the radio to hear people talk.
I do - Radio 4
15.
A
sheer brilliance!
16. Nothing doing 'round here. it's all guitars, guitars, guitars... "oh, we've got a bass somewhere, you can run it through this stagg guitar amp".
17.
And Lamb Of God are sh*t.
I bought an album of theirs in a sale at HMV recently - it's not church music, is it?
18. Thanks for that Andy, just spent 20 minutes browsing some of the exercises with bass in hand - thoroughly enjoyed myself.
19.

To be fair though, that's his picking hand...
20. . - play the note for its written duration plus a half again e.g. 1/4 note PLUS a 1/8 note .. - play the written note for its written duration plus half, plus half of the 'half' e.g. 1/4 note PLUS a 1/8 note PLUS a 1/16 note hope that clears everything up.
21.
As a subscriber I can't seem to access the extra content. Am I doing something wrong?
must be the same thing as me; I can't seem to access it either.
22. Yeah, practice as much as you can privately, but until you play with a band/other musos it's hard to imagine the dynamics and sensitivity required to play (together) in a band situation. It's like a whole other skill.
23. "Love Cats" by the Cure should do alright with just drums and bass.
