  1. Here are a set of LaBella flats in good condition although the silks are a bit scruffy. They were on my EBMM short scale Stingray for a while before I sold it on - they aren’t for me as I found the sound too dark. They are presumably cut for 2x2 or 3x1 headstocks. Price includes UK postage.
  2. Sterling Stingray Shortscale This is the newest version and comes with roasted maple neck with rosewood board and custom single ply scratchplate and original white scratchplate. Gotoh string retainer. The neck was originally a maple board one but it got damaged so I swapped it round with another Sterling Stingray I bought. I think the red looks great with the rosewood board. It’s very light at 3.6kgs. Scale length 30”. Excellent condition and the neck is lovely. I’m going back to long scale playing so selling off a few short scales I have accumulated. No trades UK pickup preferred postage will be around £20 if required. I have the original box.
  3. Fender Mustang PJ MIM A feeler and please remove if it’s in the wrong section or if spares/repairs isn’t acceptable. I’m selling this as a spares project although it is functional albeit not pretty. I bought it earlier this year. It looked water damaged and an absolute mess. I bought it for the body and hardware and pickup parts, the plan being to strip it and buy a new neck for it. The neck had a lot of lacquer cracks and splits around the trussrod veneer at the back and headstock fascia. It needed some rewiring and a new tone pot and all the hardware cleaning with a wire brush. The finish was lifting in lots of places but there were no obvious cracks in the body - I thought about stripping it and finishing it with Tru-oil but haven’t got round to it. When it arrived I thought it wasn’t as bad as I had expected so I cleaned it up. Did the work on the pots, etc. the pickups were fine. I watched a video of rescuing a neck in similar condition and had a bash using epoxy resin. So I tried that and clamped it for a few days and gave it a light sanding to make it feel smooth under the hand. I’m no luthier, I just did it for as an experiment for fun. To my surprise the neck was okay to play and the trussrod worked and adjusted as it ought to. I have actually rehearsed and gigged with it as a spare for my old Fender Musicmaster. The headstock fascia and back has lots of hairline splits in it that I filled with titebond and clamped. They’ve been fine but again I wouldn’t really trust it as a main gigging bass. I must emphasise it’s probably best described as a Fender Mustang body (genuinely Roadworn bass) with a free neck. It’s a fun beater as is or you could put some more work into it to make it into a nice project. You could put another neck on it (I had bought a Bronco neck that unfortunately didn’t materialise thanks to a dodgy courier). The parts are all pretty decent after cleaning. It weighs around 3.7kgs. Here are pics, I can post more if there is interest. The last pictures are when I got it. God knows what had happened to the poor thing! No trades I can post in the UK.

  4. A very quick no fuss deal on a Gotoh bridge. Many thanks Steve!
  5. Mine was rewired by Martin Nash (RIP) who was on here some years ago. Martin and I became friends via a lot of Shergold and Hayman dealings and email chats. I bought the bass from eBay from the original owner’s widow. When I opened it up to have a look in the control cavity I found a note and wiring diagram…..from Martin! Must have been fate - I told the original owner’s wife who was amazed at the coincidence. She also told me her husband had been in a Joy Division/New Order tribute and that the bass had been played by Hooky at a local gig. Here’s a pic of Martin’s diagram…
  6. Pickup on mine is strong so it may be a faulty one or wiring issue. The Eastwood ones seem to have a generic humbucker. It didn’t sound like my original at all.
  7. Shergold Marathon 6 only around 100 made originally - most owned by Peter Hook 😉. I’ve had four over the years and had an Eastwood version which I sent back as it was really heavy compared to my original one.
  8. It’s sad news, I commented on a Facebook post about them. I still have a few of their cases including one of the older rounder ones. It’s a shame that so many once thriving small companies are having to make these decisions.
  9. Nice 3 ply early 70’s version of the Musicmaster scratch plate Price includes UK postage.
  10. Cre8audio Mr Phil Ter Eurorack VCF, VCA & Envelope Module Fantastic multipurpose module, excellent condition, comes with power ribbon to connect to your eurorack, mounting screws and manual. Price includes UK postage.
  11. Gotoh 203B-4-NI Bridge Only used briefly and comes with some mounting screws, heavier than the typical BBOT bridge. Nice Japanese quality bridge. Nickel plate, 19 mm string spacing. Boxed near new. Price includes UK postage.

  13. Gibson EB0 1968/69 Bass USA This old bass comes complete with original tug bar, working mute and bridge cover. Even the original plastic shims under the bridge cover ‘feet’ are present. The big Gibson mud-bucker is stock and sounds massive. Short scale, set neck with pearl inlays and rosewood board. Mahogany body. I replaced the foam in the bridge as an old yellow kitchen sponge was in it when I bought it. The screws holding the cover in place look newer to me and there is some more modern looking wire connecting to the jack in the control plate. See pics. The other thing I did was to replace the G tuner as it was slipping (in ‘68 Gibson were using imported tuners from their Kalamazoo range to keep up with orders as interest in the bass hit it’s peak). The replacement tuner is a Hipshot and I have the original. It is strung with Thomastik Jazz flats. When I bought it the bass was wearing the heaviest, nastiest mix of black nylon Rotos and round wounds but the neck had managed to stay straight. The bass has had no neck or headstock repairs. It’s lovely to play and nice and light but resonant. It is a one trick pony but it does that trick very well and I found it very musical. The action is low and the string tension low so unplugged it’s quite buzzy. Played through an amp it sounds great but at the time I was using it I was recovering from a fretting hand op so playing it now it could probably do with the action raising. I’m out of action again with rotator cuff so can’t do this at the moment. The trussrod works properly and the frets have life in them but are probably due for a crown. I bought it with a pretty nifty home made case. I would think it rare to find one with all its original hardware. UK only sorry. No trades, pickup preferred so you can try it out but I can post if that’s difficult. It’s a gigged, vintage bass over half a century old so lots of finish checking (that looks gorgeous) and dings. The pictures show it strung with D’Addarios but the bass is now wearing Thomastik flats as per description. I’ve added more detailed pics.

  16. I bought a lovely Sterling bass from Ander. Great bass, service and communication. Many thanks!
  17. Yes it is very light. With the original tuners a little heavier but definitely a bass you wouldn’t worry about playing a long set with. It’s also still available as all PMs have been replied to.
  18. Sterling StingRay Shortscale A great little short scale bass for the money, plays and sounds fantastic - really captures that StingRay growl using a passive pickup. The bass weighs an astonishing 3.3kgs so great for those with bad backs or shoulders. I don’t think there were many imported in this black and maple finish and it certainly has that classic StingRay look. I had a single ply black scratchplate on it for a time however it is supplied with the original faux tortoiseshell. Nice low action, EB Slinkies 45-100 strings. No gigbag but I have a Sterling box should you require it posting. Price reduction as I have restored the original tuners. Selling because I have been buying far too much! Postage UK only at buyer’s cost.
