  1. I’ve added more pics showing this
  2. Here is a small but perfectly formed mini P bass. It’s around half the size of a normal sized instrument. I put heavy cut down flats on it as normal strings - even short scale ones - don’t give decent tension. It now plays fine. The bass is all stock and comes with its original but rather gusty smelling carry case/gig bag in fetching brown leatherette. The cream covered pickups aren’t Dimarzios but sound fine. The electrics are okay and I’ve given it a good clean. The finish has many blemishes and darker patches where stickers have been removed. It looks like someone has attempted to buff it up at some point and caused the finish to go duller. The hardware works as it ought to and the truss rod works fine. The bass plays and sounds good. Just like a Precision and punches far above its puny size. It looks to have been made from decent wood as it’s quite heavy - obviously in proportion it isn’t a boat anchor by any means. I bought it for a one off event that’s now cancelled so I’m going to sell it on. I’ve not seen one before but have owned several Maya basses that have been decent quality as this one is. It’s certainly a talking point and would be great for a child or smaller player. More pics to follow but here is one to show it in comparison to a full scale bass. No trades. Can post at cost UK only.
  3. or have I missed something? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squire-P-Bass-Special-California-Series/274492507038?hash=item3fe907439e%3Ag%3A04gAAOSw4PNfXOSm&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  4. A bump for a beautiful modern era Precision!
  5. Here is my 2007 Corona Precision - it’s the US model with the S1 switching and through body stringing. It comes with the original case, key and manual. It is in excellent condition although it has sustained a paint ding/blemish on the front where in a former life it collided with a mic stand. No other cosmetic or functional defects. It plays beautifully and has the classic P bass sound with the ability to boost the mid with the S1 switch. The maple neck is unmarked, straight and true with little fret wear and it has some beautiful subtle figuring to the grain on the board. It’s under 9lbs in weight so easy on the shoulders. A classic Precision that hasn’t been modded in any way. I’m selling as I don’t really need it now my ‘78 is back from the workshop and I could do with the cash to pay for the custom bass I’m currently putting together. No trades, please don’t ask and sorry but it’s UK only. I’m happy for a socially distant pickup (It is now back in it’s case and won’t be played whilst it’s for sale) or I can send via UPS for a further £30. Sold!
  6. That’s a nice looking bass - what is it’s weight and are you considering posting it?
  7. Fretless Fender Precision USA from 1976. I bought this recently and it needed some TLC - the last owner told me that they bought it as a 75/76 Fender fretless with a refinish and PJ pickup set however I believe it’s a bitsa as the body looks like a copy and though routed pre 76 it appears later. There is a small repair on the headstock near the E string it doesn’t effect the playability or stability of the neck. The pickups are Schaller as is the bridge. The fretless board has an old repair toward the body end that is stable. The nut has been replaced - the bass has more of a Jazz nut width compared to my ‘78 see last pic. It’s light at under 4kgs and has been strung with Roto black nylons. The skunk stripe can be felt slightly near the neck joint as if it is not flush however the neck is solid enough. The serial plate is original as are the neck, tuners and string tree. Truss rod works. It plays really well and sounds nice although the pickups are punchy they are a bit buzzy so I was going to add more shielding. I’m selling it as is and for what it owes me. It’s a play as is or one for modding. Cheap and cheerful fretless vintage Fender (at least in part). No trades. More pics to follow. UK only I’m willing to post boxed in a cheap gigbag at your expense.

  8. I had a bass go missing sent through the same courier company at the beginning of lockdown, in my case there was a mix up at the post office and the labels hadn’t been put on correctly. After 5 months of doggedly chasing the company by the sender and myself the bass was located and arrived at my place in perfect condition. Don’t give up hope and make sure you get your evidence together and work with the other party. I feared theft but in actual fact it was a case of a mix up and subsequent delivery to a wrong address. There was an awful lot that went wrong however there were some good people at the company who really did put a lot of effort into ensuring I got my bass.

  10. Beautiful.
  11. Clarky bought an old Shergold from me, great communication, fast payment, easy to deal with, what more can I say? Oh yes...many thanks!
  12. Never seen one with a maple board. Nice basses these.
  13. I’m selling my Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass. It dates from around 2011 and comes with case and tags, keys, etc. It is a lovely bass with a great feel and sound. Top of the range at the time and everything about it screams of quality. It weighs 4.1kgs and has an easy action, truss rod, frets and neck are as they ought to be. The electrics work perfectly with an incredible range of sounds.

  18. The nut width is 41mm
  19. I’ll measure it when I’m home a few people have said it feels slim but my other main bass is a 78’ Precision with a similar neck. I’ve heard mutterings of it being an ‘A width neck’ but not sure of that it’s certainly not clubby or wide like some P basses I’ve played. Even modern ones.
  20. Here is my old faithful Fender Precision in black and maple. Although the neck has a late 70s serial number the body sticker dates it to ‘81 when it was put together in the Fender factory - a common practice at the time. This bass has been heavily gigged and bears the battle scars and wear to prove it! The finish is worn in areas through genuine play not artificially- the honourable marks of time. Lots of scuffs, chips and touched up areas but at least it’s original! The neck is wonderful very shallow and easy to play the action is low and the bass really sings and sustains - no dead spots. It’s had a couple of changes over the years. When I bought it it had a non original generic Precision pickup on it that was okay but not very beefy so that was swapped for a Fender Japan one. This has more of the growl of a 70s Precision. The electrics are stock I think however I changed one pot and the output jack as both were scratchy and intermittent - I have them if required. The scratchplate that was on it when I bought it has a different Fender serial number on a sticker again not unusual for a Fender of this era. The scratchplate was badly cracked so I added a bit from another newer plate, not pretty but it works. I had a cream one on for a while which I will include. It comes with a generic gigbag. The neck is straight with good frets and working trussrod. The reason I’m selling this is down to it being heavier than my other basses. It weighs 4.4kgs which is pretty light for a Fender of this era but a bit heavy for me having recently sustained a neck and shoulder injury. I’ll be sad to see this one go as it is a great players bass and has served me and previous owners well. Pickup preferred but I can post at buyers cost. No overseas bidders. I’ve changed my mind several times about this bass but I have to be sensible. No trades!
  21. There’s paperwork in the case of where it has been and a log of what happened. It’s actually been in someone’s house for several months that’s clear and they admitted that. This person apparently was refusing to release it until they had proof it was sent to the wrong address. I’m not sure the why’s and wherefores of this I’m just glad it didn’t end up in the local cash converters!
  22. I kind of put it into perspective with what’s going on in the real world but yes it was grim.
  23. Thanks Lozz yes it’s really nice - pity it’s a rosewood board though 🤣
