3. I’ve got a pretty cool pedalboard setup that I have accumulated through random GAS attacks over several years – but I don’t really use it, ever. So, it’s time to pass things on. All these are at least 95% as new and most are 100%. All will be shipped in original boxes, with manuals. Like buying new is what I’m saying. All prices are for the pedal in the box, posted First Class “Signed For” to mainland UK. Feel free to PM me with questions, requests for more details or pics, whatever. (ALL GONE.) Also selling the Boss BCB-60 pedal board that currently houses these, with Boss/George L patch cables. £60 posted. SOLD
4. I've done this show a couple of times, great fun. Definitely my favourite.
5. Trev bought 3 set of strings from me - clear communication, super fast payment, definitely recommended here.
6.
If you'd consider posting - within uk - I'd be interested. Cheers
Hmmm - I still have the box. I'll look into it, but it might be tricky. Whereabouts in the NW are you? If it's, say, Manchester I could meet you halfway. On the other hand if it's Carlisle that would be a bit of a trek for the two of us!
7. I've got a Trad P pickup coming soon that I'm looking forward to trying out. The previous incarnation of the bass had an SD SPB-1 in it that I really liked. But I thought I'd give Wizard a try out of curiosity. I'm expecting the Trad to be fairly similar to the SPB-1 as both are descibed as pretty much "vintage correct".
8. I bought a Badass bridge from James. Good comms, very prompt despatch in tidy packaging, received the following day in near mint condition. Nice deal, top guy, definitely recommended - cheers James!
9. I bought these as spares when I had a brief dabble with upright playing again after a break of many years. I've since decided to stick with bass gutar, so these are now surplus to requirements (never been used, obviously). Looking for [s]£100[/s] £80 shipped to mainland UK. This set is for standard orchestral tuning E-A-D-G.
10.
I really don't get the Fender market. Surely a '62 RI pup should be made to recreate what an original circa '62 pup sounds like today (taking into account magnetic degradation etc. etc.). That would make far more sense to me, especially if you are attempting to recreate a vintage instrument. I mean what's the point of playing a "new sounding" vintage instrument?
Yeah - interesting comment. And I just noticed how cynical my earlier post in the thread sounded. Please don't get me wrong, I'm just as gear obsessed as anyone else most of the time. I just have these occasional moments of clarity.
11. Many thanks to all who have kindly posted comments. Top guys all.
12. Perhaps not as good a deal as I thought. Isn't it funny how sometimes you advertise stuff thinking it will go really quick, but it doesn't? And then another time, you put something up for grabs that you think you'll be stuck with until you're senile, and somebody almost snaps your hand off! Anyway, bump for three brand spanking new sets of these at £20 each IF you'll take all three.
13. Javier bought an EBMM Stingray from me. Very good communications, paid promptly when the deal was agreed, arranged his own courier to get the bass over to Spain - great transaction and he's a pleasure to do business with.
14. Thanks for getting back to me, mate - looking forward to getting the P bass body tomorrow.
15. Palatino blurb: The Palatino VE-500 Electric Upright Bass is the answer to many a bass player's prayers. With sweet sound, great looks, and light, portable design, the VE-500 bass has a chambered body of select spruce. The slim, maple neck and curved ebony fingerboard emulate an acoustic upright bass. The Palatino VE-500 bass's adjustable maple bridge rests on the piezo transducer pickup, giving the VE-500 electric upright its large, booming tone. Geared tuners with metal buttons offer easy, accurate tuning. The Palatino VE-500 bass's black-finished metal tailpiece is sturdy and practical. The lightweight endpin offers an infinite range of adjustment with a positive locking mechanism. The Palatino VE-500 is an extremely versatile electric bass with active tone and volume controls and a headphone jack with preamp. Palatino includes a rugged combination leather/plastic carrying bag with backpack straps. The low, effortless action appeals especially to fretted electric bass players making the transition to an upright bass. The Palatino VE-500 Elecric Upright Bass has big tone, much like an amplified acoustic bass. It's an electric upright bass that's sure to please professionals looking for a bass they can travel with. Features Solid spruce top Maple back and sides Ebony fingerboard Piezo transducer pickup Active tone and volume controls Headphone jack Adjustable maple bridge Combination leather/plastic bag with backpack straps Scale length: 40-3/4"
16. I bought this a while back on the insistence of a singer-songwriter I was gigging with at the time. But the gigs with him all but dried up and it just hasn't really been played. I think I've used it about three times! It's a nice enough instrument, but not earning its keep I'm afraid. Comes with useable gig bag for transport. I'll accept £315 for this one - sorry, collection only (I'm in Wolverhampton). Stock photo below, I'll post pics of the actual instrument if there's any interest out there.
17. PM'd again last night - maybe my messages aren't getting to you for some reason? Did the P bass body get posted yesterday?
18. Still in the cellophane. Cheapest I've found these online is £26.95 per set from Strings Direct. I'll post the three sets anywhere in mainland UK for [s]£60[/s] £50. Sorry, will only post the three sets as one package.
19. And why bother with the straploks on a guitar for someone who likes the look of something that's been dropped on to concrete repeatedly?
20. There's some interesting comments here. Just how different can P pickups be, really? They're just magnets with wire wrapped round them. When you're playing "Disco Inferno" or your band's latest magnum opus on your next gig, who's going to know whether your pickups are wound to 10k or 12k?
21. Smashing chap - knows how to do business, good buyer, recommended without any reservations. Two deals done, both perfect.
