1. Okay here’s the long awaited pics, sorry for the delay. As I said, my photo skills don’t do this justice, but at least you should get the idea. Ask if you’d like me to try and get better ones of any particular aspect and I will try if I get some decent daylight tomorrow or Saturday. These are the best I can take this evening and they’re really for people who have already asked about the bass to give them a rough idea. It is, as far as I can tell, the same as the day I bought it. The marks on the lower body horn really look bad in one of these pics – they’re just fingerprints from me handling the bass and I’ll give it a clean before taking some more. I can hardly see the marks as I look at the bass here now. I’ve included a shot of the fingerboard up close as the wood grain is gorgeous – I hope you can tell. 2. I've still got this - if it doesn't get picked up (at a reasonable price) it looks like I'm going to have to start practising to get some use out of it!
3.
I can recommend buying this bass off Bill. I bought a Status S2 Classic off him in 2007 and it was in absolute immaculate condition. He looks after his gear.
Thanks for the recommendation! My apologies for being slow with the pics - I've just been so busy (or maybe my subconscious is trying to stop me selling it, heh). I'll get some up very soon, promise.
4.
Some photos would be useful
Of course - I'll try to get some decent pics up later today.
5. Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo, mint condition. I bought this new early in 2004 as I’d always wanted a Ric, but the reality is that I’ve hardly played it (used it on maybe two gigs). I think I’m just a Jazz bass sort of person. It’s a shame it doesn’t get played enough. Anyway, it’s a real beaut- the fingerboard is just gorgeous. I’ll try to get some pics up later, although my photography won’t do this justice. I’ll include the Ric case, of course (some minor exterior marks – the bass itself is perfect) with the genuine Ric cleaning cloth (lol), a realy nice matching padded red leather strap by Eagle Music (with Schaller straploks, as the bass had the strap buttons for these from new) and a new, unopened set of Rickenbacker strings. The bass does NOT have the tone control capacitor mod that was introduced a little later, but this could be easily added if wanted. Anyone who wants to save a few quid on what is essentially an as new 4003 and skip the wait might do well with this one. I’m asking £1200 cash (no trades, thanks) which seems pretty fair to me given the current retail situation. I would prefer local collection rather than shipping – I could be willing to meet halfway somewhere if Wolverhampton is a long haul for you.
6. 3 PMs responded to - thanks for the interest. Still up for grabs at present!
7. It's this one, just to be clear: http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=819
8. I've had this a couple of years but never really got into it. It does what it says on the tin, but it's not for me. It's had maybe three hours use in total, so it's absolutely as new, with box and manual. How does £100 shipped sound for this? If you want to collect I'm in Wolverhampton.
9. Just purely out of curiosity (sorry, but I'm a Kontakt user these days), could I ask how much these sold for when new? And what year they came out? I always find this sort of info fascinating. I remember very well the Emulator II htting the market for about £8k! I hope this Akai finds a good home with someone who'll enjoy it.
10. ALL SOLD - pickups (and the bridge) now with their respective new owners. I will be posting something VERY cool for sale tomorrow in the basses section...
11. Bridge despatched via first class Royal Mail today, I'd expect delivery tomorrow or maybe Wednesday. Pickups still currently available, 3 PMs responded to.
12. Bridge now sold. Nordstrand pickups still available - let me know if you'd like more info.
13. I bought these pickups a couple of years ago for a project that I never got round to finishing, so they're totally unused - still in the box in their sealed plastic wrapping. Bassdirect are selling these for £200 a pair plus shipping, so I think £140 shipped sounds fair - let me know if you've been after a pair of these and want to save a few quid. Incidentally, I have Carey Nordstrand's NJ4SE pickups on my main bass and they're fantastic, which is why I bought these to go on a more traditional Jazz for old school vibe without the single coil hum. Nordstrands are great pickups for sure. I also have a spare chrome Badass II bridge (direct Fender replacement) for the same reason. I understand these can be hard to get hold of at present? This one came off a Geddy Lee Jazz so the saddles are already slotted. £50 + shipping. Let me know if you'd like pics. For local pickup, I'm in Wolverhampton. Bill
14.
BB, you have email.
Hi Jake - just replied.
15.
Thats such an awesomely snug fit between neck/body, plate/pickguard/. sick. Too cheap.
The quality of construction on the MIJ basses is great and the Geddy's no exception. But this MIM neck is nicely done too - good fret job. As I said, this is a nice player despite being a mix and match job. Everything works together well on this one. Too cheap, eh? Let's see...
16. Geddy Lee Jazz body with fretted MIM maple/rosewood neck. I put the Geddy neck on the MIM because I liked the look and the EMGs on the MIM. So, this one is surplus to my requirements. I'm letting it go at what I think is a very fair price. This is a nice playing bass, but I have four Jazzes and really need to cut down a bit. DETAILS - alder body, original Geddy electrics, standard Fender bridge (from same MIM bass as the neck). Small chip of body finish on neck pocket, caused by the really tight fit of the neck (see pics), otherwise immaculate nick. Nice set up by yours truly. Currently strung with Rotosound Swing bass rounds, 45-105. Schaller strap locks. Comes with three Geddy pattern scratchplates - black pearloid as shown, also w/b/w and b/w/b. Spoilt for choice! Will also throw in a nice black leather padded Levy's strap (with strap lock fittings) and a TGI hard case. New, an MIM Jazz with this strap and case would cost around £470 - I'm asking £295 cash. Local pick up only (I'm in Wolverhampton). Please feel free to ask questions here.
