1. I'd come to that - weekend would obviously be best, preferably Saturday for me. I'm only about an hour up the M40/M42/M6 from there. I don't have any gigs in September and with the timescale we work to it's unlikely any will come in now - boohoo. Will there be beer?
2. We always have clothes on hand for deps, including the infamous Expresso Bongo "dep's trousers". Now those really ARE eye-watering.
3. Dammit - I just sold a Stingray TODAY and I'm already gassing for another one. This is GORGEOUS.
4.
What I do is put the bubble wrap under the strings (between the strings and fingerboard).
Thta's not a bad idea. But I'm sure this will be okay as shown. I'm not unpacking it all again now! Lol.
5. I thought you guys might like to see a picture of the bass in its case ready for packing. There’s bubble wrap over most of the length of the (slackened off) strings and also under the headstock. The spare strings are underneath the headstock also. On the left you can see a little plastic bag, taped to the lining. The bag contains the keys to the case and the original strap buttons (I'd fitted Schaller locking ones) and screws, wrapped in tissue paper in case they come loose. On the right you can see cleaning cloth, neck tags, et cetera. With the bubble wrap in place the lid closes very nicely with just enough pressure to keep the bass from moving. It's now packed up very tight in a good box all ready for collection!
6.
Still love the looks of this bass and if its still around when I get back from holiday I would be seriously interested in this if I can get up there to give it a try before I make a decision. I'll let you know my situation when I get back in a few weeks.
Okay, bud - although I'm hoping it will be gone quicker than that, to be honest. But if I still have it when you're back you are very welcome to come and give it a test to your heart's content. And £750 cash seems a pretty good price for this to me. To recap, LIKE NEW, with the case and candy and a new set of strings to go on it at your leisure. Collection, or buyer covers shipping/insurance.

9. This was my "small rig" head a few years back before I switched to Markbass stuff to save my ageing spine. The condition is pretty much like new. It's a good sounding amp and has plenty of punch. I'm looking for [s]£130[/s] £110 shipped (I still have the original box, manual, etc) or will knock a bit off for collection from Wolverhampton. Sadowsky

I visited the Sadowsky place In Brooklyn when I was over there a couple of years back. The basses are top notch in every respect and I was tempted - very "Jazz on steroids" which is just my bag, actually. But then I realised that they wern't actually BETTER than what I already have (not for me anyway), just different. My main Jazz basses are custom jobs with Status graphite necks, but this baby is also very tasty and about the nearest thing I have to the Sadowsky vibe at present - my luvverly white Jazz with a Geddy neck, Badass bridge and EMGs. Classic and modern all at the same time...
11. Every now and then I buy a decent guitar with the intention of learning to play it. And then I sell it. This is a really nice instrument, satin mahogany finish, two humbuckers, first class build quality. Absolutely as new 'cos I can't play the damn thing. I'll include a suprisingly okayish Stagg guitar gig bag and a spare set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys. Will sell for £145 shipped or consider trading for a decent Strat copy that I'll never learn to play. If you want to collect the guitar or meet for the trade I'm in Wolverhampton. Stock Internet pic:
12. Well, the case has made one gentleman in Cheshire a happy little chap. Anybody want the stand or the strap? The latter in particular should find a nice home, it's bloody gorgeous! See pics above.
13. Bumpity bump bump bump. I've dropped the price a bit here - somebody please take this or I'm going to have yet another P bass project on my hands!
14.
Feck - just clocked your band. Were you around in the era of Amadeus Proverbs...!?
Oh yes indeed. Gigged with the great man just last month, too. How do you know him - ex teacher of yours perhaps?
15. Hey, Chris! Hiya mate. Thanks for the compliments about these, guys, they are very special instruments for me for functional, aesthetic and personal reasons. I was a many, many basses owner until recently but had too many that I just wasn't using. I'm a Jazz guy at heart (of all types), and so my non-Jazz basses have been thinned out a lot recently. I basically realised that these two are the only two I need and never gig with anything else now.
16. Okay, no bites since the original offer fell through, so I've cut the price down to £750. BARGAIN!
17. AND it looks like these are sold. I'm pleased that somebody can use these, it's a really nice setup.
18. Real quality stuff, but would still suit pretty much any P bass project on a budget. Seymour Duncan SPB-1 "vintage correct" pickup with black covers Solid shaft CTS pots with chrome Fender barrel knobs Fender mint green pickguard All fixing screws for pickups and guard Just drop it all in and hook up the ground to the bridge. £50 plus shipping. Pic attached of this lot installed in a bass (now parted out).
19.
Welcome mate, your TB credentials are exemplary
Ha ha! Exemplary, eh? I know who a few people who've said that someone ought to make an example of me!
20. Hi there - I've been a member here for a few months now, and was a member of the older forum before that. But I never used the site that much until recently for selling off some stuff (I must remember to donate again for that!). I know quite a few of you dudes from TalkBass where I'm a mod in the Amps forum. That said, I have to say I'm enjoying hanging out here, as there's way fewer strange American chappies with funny ideas about religion and politics. For those who don't know me, I''ve been playing for about 35 years, have owned more gear than I care to admit to, love Jazz basses with Status graphite necks (I have two) and Markbass amplification, and I play in several different bands. Most of what I do is party type stuff - soul/funk/disco orientated. The band I enjoy gigging with the most is a 22 piece Earth, Wind & Fire / Stevie Wonder tribute outfit. To pay for my GAS, I work as a Uni lecturer as my day job. Looking forward to being here more often in future! Cheers.
21. Thanks for this and for the PM. I'm really glad you're happy with the case. When I say "like new", I mean "like new"! Cheers mate!
22. For some reason pictures aren't showing up. They can be downloaded here instead: http://www.mikedrums.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Neckpics.zip
