My EMG J set came with pickups and a wired up harness with the pots and jack socket. I had to solder the pickup cables to the pots, but now I think they come with "quick connect" cables. You just need to mount the pots, connect the pickups and controls up, clip in a battery and you're done (no ground to bridge needed). These are different beasts to conventional Jazz pickups.

I totally agree! Green is a much under-used colour option.

Basschatter Stag saw this bass in another thread and PM’d me to ask if I would say a bit more about it. So… I bought a new MIM Jazz in 2004 with the intention of tarting it up a bit. It was a nice player when I got it but I wanted a more modern vibe, so it got the active EMGs (J set) and a Badass II pretty much straight away, along with a change from W/B/W to B/W/B pickguard. A couple of years later I picked up a Geddy Lee Jazz and loved the neck but wasn’t over enthusiastic about the rest of the bass. So, the necks got swapped and I sold the Geddy with the MIM neck (rosewood board) on here: [url="http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=103758"]http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=103758[/url] I call what I have left my “reverse Geddy” and it’s a corker – very fast and snappy player, perfect for slap stuff, with a modern tone, loads of clarity and very full range responsiveness (that’ll be the EMGs, then).
