3. Rare Mesa Boogie V1 Bottle Rocket complete with UK power supply. Excellent valve overdrive/distortion. Beautiful valve tone. Excellent for bass. - 2x12AX7 - 1 Channel of Pure Vacuum Tube Overdrive/Distortion from Input to Output - Gain, Master, Bass and Treble Control - True Bypass Switch Here's how Mesa describe it "Whether it's subtle, touch-sensitive overdrive, a gob of gooey gain or red-hot clean signal to slam your favorite amp's input stage...V-1 gives your sound a serious dosing of Tone. The simple four control layout lets you crank, shape and meter the exact amount of fat, liquid gain produced by the 4 triodes doing the dirty work, snug in their stage-proof bunker, and safe from a stray-foot sortie. And to insure the host amp's purity when you're not lighting things up with the V-1, we use a relay to hard-bypass your guitar right through two jacks. This means no sacrifice of your original tone...unlike many overdrive devices that compromise tone even when they're switched off." Pix tomorrow.

5.
I found the Mesa Boogie Prodigy, but at almost 2 grand new, and possibly 110V only, it's slightly into Fantasy Island territory.
240-volt version is available and works well but, yes, expensive.
6. Foolishly installed an iTunes software upgrade this morning on my PC. Just checked the Recent Additions and it has magically appeared. Now I have to make it magically disappear as I'm not the slightest bit interested in U2 or their recordings.
7. Sorry that I can't be there. Have a great day everyone and see you at the SE Bash in November.
8. I stopped playing in 1967 when I sold all my gear (worst decision of my life) and started my career. What with that, marriages, family and other hobbies I didn't get back into playing again until 1990, a break of 23 years. I was very rusty however I've not looked back since.
9. I'm 68 and still get out and gig when I can. I've been playing on and off since I was 17. I saw Little Riichard on tour and that was the defining moment. I'm not in a permanent band these days but that's through choice however I dep occasionally for a blues band, do house band at a local jam from time to time and get up and play at other local jams. As long as I'm fit and sane I will continue to play.

11. Sadly due to Grandchildren commitments I'm not now going to be able to make this. I know I could bring them but they won't all fit in the Smart with the rig. Should be OK for the SE Bash later in the year however.
12.
But does it count as a "Jam" if you are playing songs that everyone knows? Surely that's just playing covers?
It's not a prerequisite that everyone knows the songs. It makes you think on your feet and that's what I like about it.
13. Also I can recommend Robert van der Linde in Farnborough. http://www.cadillacguitars.com/ He's a very experienced luthier and recently undertook a major service and part rewire of Paul Geary's Stingray 5.
14. So you play bass for Keith or with Mr Miller in the Voodoo Men?
15.
And today the missus saw the receipt!! It's going to be a cold and lonely couple of weeks
Oh dear!
16. I've just done 3 weeks as house bass for 3 hours a night at a local Jam with my Prodigy/CN212 and it never missed a beat. Absolutely solid and great tone with the Sadowsky PJ in passive mode. Lots of comments about the bass sounding great and actually cutting through the mix. It even made an old Encore Precision and a 60s Futurama sound really good.
17. Welcome Ricardo. Wow you are a long way down south in Texas. I visited Austin once. Great place, great music scene.
18. This is so tempting and only just down the road. Hmm.
19.
Thanks guys. I've decided to go with the Berg CN212. Regards Freddie
Excellent choice. One year on and I'm still totally pleased with mine. Best cab I've owned. Just discovered that it fit in the back of my Smart with room to spare. The Cab Gas has diffused.
20. Peace Love and Understanding by Nick Lowe.
21. Finally got to use my Prodigy depping as house bass at local Jam last week and again last night. Great tone with the Berg CN212. Several comments about tonal quality, clarity and the fact that the bass could be heard cutting through regardless of who was drumming. Despite initial concerns after blowing a fuse early in its life and the odd horror story on TB, it's been very reliable and a doddle to use.
22.
Cool! And is the bottom of the ramp flat or shaped to follow the pickguard?
It's flat but the two screws hold it firmly in place. if I could have found some perspex the smae thickness as the PG then I'd have filled in the space. It seems to work fine as it is.
23.
Where did you get the ramp?
I made it myself.
24. My fine pair of Metros.
