S'not true of NN, though, where the notion of simplicity is privileged. The Arabic numbers, instead of Roman, make it easy to note easy charts, but give much less information once the songs become complex. I never use NN, and I treat it as equivalent to Tab : useful for simple stuff, but no more. I don't see any advantage with 6-, 4, 1, 5 when i, VI, III, VII does the job so well.

The link below has a good stab at explaining it ... The Nashville Numbering System ... It starts to become cumbersome quite quickly, though.

The NN uses the diatonic notes in the key indicated. If in Em (I...), C would be VI, G is III and D is VII. All one has to know is one's Major scale and one's natural minor scale to allocate the NN Roman numbers. If using Arabic numbers, the number would simply be that of the relative major, with a minor chord being indicated with a '-' sign, so, for a song in Em (so annotated in 'G Major'...), the notation would be 6- 4 1 5. Personally I prefer the Roman system; it seems clearer to me.

To be discussed again once you reach the age to retire. With my modest career, and occasional gigs, I'm now very happy with the pension I receive, having contributed for all those decades. It helped that the jobs I had were interesting, even if modestly paid; the gigs weren't bad either. It's possible to have both sides of one's bread buttered, and still have cream towards the end.

On the other hand, Life is too short for any pettiness. Let it go, you're bigger than that, and no kittens have been harmed.

I'm surprised to hear that you don't find this head to be 'loud'. In good state, they are often used to explode ex-nazi coastline bunkers with sonic power. It won't work well with small 1x10 cabs, but given a 4x12 stack, or 2x15, it'll remove all the glass from your house, and the neighbours. What cab are you using..? All this depends, of course, of it being in its original (or correctly upgraded...) specification, original 'Partridge' transformers, and six matched output valves. In full swing, it would melt the Orange Super Crush. There's no comparaison with Peavey amps, either. If it's not loud, get it fixed, and stand far enough back when you turn it on afterwards. Yes, they are heavy, though.

I don't think that 'cheap' is the best description, with its connotations of 'lack of quality'. Perhaps the term 'inexpensive' would be more accurate..?

It would indeed, but it would be a bit more 'fiddly' than Reaper, for instance, in my opinion (I use both, but for different things; each has its uses...).

No need, ever, for a sub with an acoustic kit. For an e-kit, I use 'sport' earphones, which are lightweight and allow all ambient sound (they're not really 'in ears'...), so I get the full benefit of my drums, mixed how I like it, whatever the FOH or Monitoring for the band, whilst still hearing what's going on on stage from the foldback monitors and backline amps.. This solution works in every case, whether practicing alone, rehearsing, in a pub or a stadium, and it costs next to nothing. I take the feed from my Tascam audio interface (two headphone sockets...) which send the audio from my Superior Drummer laptop to FOH and foldback. It would work in exactly the same manner if I was using only the e-drum 'brain' for the sound, as they all have an independent headphone 'out'. Here's the type of headset I use; no issues hearing bass drum, snare, hi-hat... whatever... Much lighter, better, controlled sound, and less messing about than any 'sub' solution, if it's only for the drummer.
