Well, just how lucky can you get..? Just when a picture comes along for which I had, for many reasons, no particular inspiration, I chanced upon the very source I needed, and no farther afield than at the end of my own garden..! Out early, thinking to do a little light weeding, I thought I caught, out of the corner of my eye, a furtive movement in the hedgerow. Hardly daring to breath, I carefully took out my portable recording device (one never knows when an opportunity will strike, and struck it had indeed..!) and managed to capture the antics of this dainty creature, unaware of my presence..! She had fashioned a swing from the branches of our old apple tree, and, singing gently to herself, began to rock to and fro, higher and higher, faster and faster. Too much, though, for the poor old tree, which, despite the slight weight of the mere slip of an elf, gave audible signs of discomfort. Hearing this complaint, the swinging slowed and came to a halt. The moment was ended; the creature vanished. All that was left was the continued chirping and warbling of the wildlife in the vicinity, and the low rush of the morning breeze. I scurried back to my 'pica-studio' to listen eagerly to the sounds captured; here they are...
