Try this approach..? Soundskins ... or a more DIY version ... Knitted Cover ... Very 'feng shui'; sure to please. No need to thank me.
  4. Did you read the (short...) story..?
  5. 3:00-7:00..? Good gracious, it'll be getting light before the set's over..! I'll be fast asleep in bed by then; sorry.
  6. Oh, but it is part of your identity; you just don't want to think of it that way, that's all. May I recommend this (short...) read, about 'fantasy' personalities and their place in life..? The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - The New Yorker You can thank James Thurber for that; he's well worth exploring further, too.
  7. For my money, I see nothing wrong with your current Wharfedales. You'll need to spend a fair bit to get better than that. For what you describe as usage, I'd be happy enough putting the bass through them (at acoustic concert levels, and small-medium venues...) Not if you're playing death metal or such, but for an acoustic duo, look no further. Just my tuppence-worth.

    Hi All

Good evening, ZX, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.

  13. Having reached the giddy heights (or depths..?) of 67 years old, I'd say that, as far as bands are concer ... Zzzzzz ... Zzzzzz ... Zzzzzz
  14. Don't be; these powers extol a heavy price in other areas (and not just the grumpiness and abhorrent odours, either...). Be wary of what you wish for...
  15. On top of which, he does have magical powers. Woe betide those who deign to cross his path when he's wearing his pointy hat.
  16. I must be hopping mad..! My PC dates from 2010, so is equally prehistoric. If really needing to change, however, I could recommend a refurbished machine, if you're not fussed about having the very latest (read: expensive...) PC. There is nice spec stuff out there from around £250-300. Just sayin'.
  17. My PC, bought 'refurbished' with Windows 7, updated itself to Windows 10 when the offer to do so came up. I've never had a more stable Windows since (although XP was pretty good from that point of view...). If, then, the PC is up to it (motherboard support for 64-bit..?), I'd recommend Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit. Mine is an HP8200, i5 processor, 12 Gb RAM Hops this helps.
  18. In IT jargon, it's the opposite of 'blacklisting', which indicates unwanted stuff. 'Whitelist' means 'This is OK, and wanted'. As indicated above, you probably have the option, in the 'Spam' folder, of selecting 'This is not 'Spam' or similar for messages that you want to receive. Hope this helps.
  19. A photo taken on Boxing Day, of course..?
  20. No, Skank, stop it please; my sides are hurting..! It's not good for my hypertension. Let the poor bloke skulk privately for awhile whilst I get my short breath back. Then we can carry on; I'm retired, you know. I've lot's of spare time.
  21. My Marketplace 'patrol zone' is Amps and Cabs For Sale'. Any Reports of trademark infringement there will require exacting evidence from the Reporter before action on my part. All Reports are dealt with; some imply interaction on the part of the Reporter. This will be such a case. Now, Report away.
  22. Remind me again; you're not a marketing man, are you..? No..? Thought not.
  23. Is the selling of a bass with an unauthorised logo on it against the law, or is it not..? Your posts up to now seem to suggest that it is. Therefore BC must not allow them, or risk becoming 'second defendant' in a court case. Yes or no..?
  24. That's the spirit..! Now it you could only lead one or two others towards the exit, that would be very helpful; thanks in advance.
