  1. A septic finger takes longer.
  2. Use a pick for once, until the blisters heal th'selves..?
  3. Good evening, Shep , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share. ... ... Hang on a minute; that Username rings a bell. Weren't you that fellow who played bass in... Errrm... Oh dear; it's quite slipped my mind. You know the one I mean, though. It is you, isn't it..? Isn't it..? ...
  4. And the winner is... NickD..! Here, then, is your Winner's Certificate (download and save as pdf file, then proudly print and frame...) ... BC_Chal_Cert_2020_08.pdf ... which looks like this (but bigger, of course..!)…
  5. When does the Good Bit start..?
  6. Although, to be fair, that photo was taken at a local concert; it was the sound bloke that mic'ed it up, along with the drums, and even the guitar amps. During the concert (open air, in a courtyard...), only the vocals went through the PA; the rest was easily heard without any assistance. We found it funny, that he got us to 'sound check', then had to turn all his faders down to zero..! For the record, that amp is a Hiwatt DR203, 200w valve amp (4 x KT88...). These were used after WWII to destroy concrete defence bunkers along the coast, using only sonic waves. No, it didn't need mic'ing up..!
  7. Is the term 'Brit-Pop' offensive..?
  8. Yup, but not for long. ...
  9. Errrm... Nope.
  10. Good evening, SP, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  11. PM would be great..! Thanks in advance.
  12. That's some seriously Good Stuff, there ^^ ..! My duff hearing makes it difficult to pick out the words, and I'm left with frustrating snippets. My mind fills in the gaps, but I'm pretty sure I'm well below the mark set by the singer's real lyrics. Particular mention for the capo on the fretless (s'not often one sees that...), and for the tone-setting tea cups. Altogether, musically and visually, a Fine Work Of Art. I'll listen again and try to follow a bit better, but t'ain't easy.

    Hello

Good evening, Paul , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  14. @richardd : The declared price should have been for all the items being sold, ie: £100. By an amazing elan of generosity I'll leave this to run its course, but for another time (and for others posting in the Marketplace...), please be aware of this rule. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
  15. Built it himself from parts; it's a Kit-Kat.
  16. Good evening, Rich, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  17. I had, back then, no money at all for tapes such as Ampex; all my stuff is budget and lower, with just a few Scotch or Philips reels. None of them have become unplayable, despite their low cost and the very 'iffy' storage they've 'enjoyed'. I wouldn't know how to 'bake' a reel, so wouldn't even try.
  18. Hope it works out OK (stop biting your nails; that won't help..! ) I may have dodged a bullet there. I must be lucky, as none of my tapes are beyond listening, despite the very hard life they've had.
  19. Yes, indeed, when appropriate.
  20. Well, if they'd contented themselves to a still picture, I might have spent a few moments appreciating those a bit more. Never mind; maybe I'm just cantankerous.
