  1. I have a Sonuus i2M Musicport; it works very well, on bass or guitar. Just sayin'.
  2. The Solution is evident. Have the UK merge with Eire. No more Irish border problem, on land or sea. It's so obvious. ...
  3. The Ox, at Brunel University. Ear-bleeding loud, with a sax trying to perform brain surgery phonically on all attending. Even from outside, on leaving, the stomach was still being pounded by the low tones. Bleedin' awful. The Stones, Hyde Park (Yes, the 'Butterfly' one...). King Crimson had already stolen the show, and goodness knows how many loooong, loooong minutes of Sympathy for the Devil (Hoo..! Hoo..!) one can endure. We walked across the park, but were tempted to run. (Hoo..! Hoo..!) Hawkwind, Kingston College. A splendid concert until, in the hall heavily draped with long curtains over the windows, the pyrotechnics were set off. An immediate fire risk. Luckily it didn't go up in flames, as it happened, but we were already outside. A close shave. More, probably, whenever the Edgar Broughton Band were trundled out (again...) on the concert stage. There's only so much suffering one should have to endure in this world.
  4. I, too, listen to music from many ages and continents, and always have; some of it is very good indeed (and some, of course, less so, in my view...). I have few nostalgia genes, it seems. Exposure at a very early age (infant's school...) to classical works such as Saint-Saëns and Mendelson were, possibly, instrumental in forming my appreciation. Not all 'modern' music is Good; quite a lot of Old Music (from any era...) is Rubbish, and vice versa.
  5. Music from the '40s, don't you mean..?
  6. Good afternoon, Carlitos , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  7. Not online, but very good (Book One of Three...) Piano Lessons Book ...
  8. Good evening, José, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  9. Arms broken..? Dunno, but around five hundred workers died during the construction of the Aswan dam, mostly from landslides, apparently.
  10. @upside downer : With apologies once more for the delay, I've posted the Certificate for January's victory...
  11. And the joint winners are... Dad3353 and Upside Downer ..! Here, then, are your Winner's Certificates (download and save as pdf file, then proudly print and frame...) ... BC_Chal_Cert_2021_01.pdf ... which look like this (but bigger, of course..!)...

    Hello!

Good evening, Rogo, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  14. As a True Beginner; that was the first thing I did : list all the 'C' licks, then the 'one flat/sharp' licks and so on. It's good, I think, to have 'em all mixed up, as one may turn the pages and get fresh stuff to read, but an index at the back (or front; whatever...) listing all the 'C's, all the 'C#'s, all the 'D's... etc wouldn't cost much, and would be helpful for those 'dipping their toe' into the book for the first (or second...) time. Just a thought.
  15. Don't they collect mushrooms or something..?
  16. The bloke really knows what he's talking about. Great Stuff.
  17. Son of Suzy Creamcheese, Frank Zappa
  18. Good evening, Pete, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  19. Which reminds me (lazy beggar that I am...); I've still not posted the Certificate for last month. How very amiss of me; I'll see to that this evening (hopefully...).
  20. John McLaughlin Trio, Live at the RFH.
  21. Disclaimer : I self-declared Upside Downer as Joint Winner, as I'd not voted in time, and that would have tipped the balance (I wasn't well...). I also twisted his arm (despite being not well, such is my influence and power...) into choosing the (excellent...) picture for stimulating the creative instincts of the participants. ... ... So all blame credit goes to him.
  22. Absolutely brilliant; a Great Watch. Thanks a bunch for posting. I've learnt a lot in a very short time, and will eagerly try this out in my future stuff. One slight problem is my duff hearing; he's lauding the Release on a Ride cymbal that I can't hear..! No matter, I've captured the spirit of his propos, that's the main thing. Good Stuff; Really Good Stuff.
  23. In my mind's eye, I can see Sylvia wincing at some of the lyrics..!
  24. A Day in the Life (Beatles...)
  25. There's tons more to come, too, such as ... Dave Mattacks Spencer Dryden (RIP...) Martin Lamble (RIP...) Michael Shrieve Bill Kreutzmann Mickey Hart Christian Vander Ruth Underwood
