1. Just been rummaging through the string drawer, and realised that I have a few sets that I'm never gonna use so I might as well see if anyone can make use of them here. The thing is, I am not sure what they are, and the string identifier thread on here is of no use to me because I am colourblind! I know there is an unused dominant, (well thats what it says on the packet!) but I'll put some pics up for others to identify. They were included in a deal with an EUB I bought about a year ago which was 3/4 size so I'm assuming these would be the same. All the silks are fine. £40 + postage for both sets and I'll throw in a nearly new set of 4/4 cheapo Alice strings for good measure
2. Where did you get the replacement feet from?
3. Recent sale of an amp to Andy went very smoothly with no hitches. Instant payment and re-assurance that the item had arrived in good order. I would thoroughly recommend dealing with Andy for a quick and pleasant transaction
4. This will solve your problem. Probably get something similar down your local £ shop.....

7. Just bought a pickup off of Clarky, got a good deal and he went to great lengths to re-send it after Royal Mail cocked up the first attempt! I'm happy to recommend him for any buying/selling transactions and will likely deal again in the future!!
8.
Heard a couple of cracking tunes from the soon to be released Wilko and Roger Daltrey album on the radio this morning.
This was one of them........
9. Still available......... however, I have just seen a bass guitarist wanted ad that I might go for, and if it comes off I am likely to keep this, so get in quick........!!
10. Looking for a brighter sound on my fretless, which is currently strung with Status nylons. Anyone tried Elixers on a fretless? Are they less likely to mark the board compared to normal rounds? Thanks in advance Andy
11. Heard a couple of cracking tunes from the soon to be released Wilko and Roger Daltrey album on the radio this morning.Very reminiscent of the early feelgoods. Definitely on my shopping list! Anyone know if Norm is playing on the album?
12. My TH500 is up for sale for the sole reason that I am mainly gigging double bass these days and couldn't really get my sound with it. If I had more bass guitar gigs I would be using the TH500 all the time 'cos it sounds fantastic in that context. I wish I could afford to keep it hanging around in case the situation changes. I am now using an ATS 500 which is completely transparent soundwise, and I would probably add a TH pedal if guitar gigs picked up.
13.
I'd be all over this but I just bought another one. Would you consider selling the bag separately?
I'd rather not but thanks anyway, its an added incentive for a prospective buyer..........
14.
Just out of interest as I'm looking to do the same thing, what's your replacement? EA?
This little beauty - I can make good use of the 2 channels

17. ToneHammer 500 for sale. I acquired this in a recent trade with a view to using it for Bass guitar with the option of connecting a pre amp into the effects return and using it for Double Bass, but i'm not really getting the sound I am looking for so I am offering it for sale. Its up for £499, posted to UK mainland. This includes the fitted Aguilar gig bag, which has kept it in excellent condition. I suspect you know what it looks like but I will post actual pics tomorrow in daylight. No trades I'm afraid as I have already sourced a replacement
18. You could try Rockhopper based in MK......
19. I have Wilkinson tuners on my Bassix.
20.
Good afternoon, Andy... I searched for 'flute lessons skype uk' and got a fair return, such as ... Flute lessons, Skype... Worth a look, maybe..?
Never realised you could get Skype lessons!! Thanks for the link, I will suggest this to my daughter
Begin by just blowing into the hole (as you would blow into a milk bottle to produce a note) with the aim of producing long notes of consistant volume and quality. Practice this until a consistent note can be produced when required. Once that is acheived, attach the other part of the instrument and practice until notes can be produced to the same consistancy. Understanding of the musical scale will help with pitch recognition and the art of producing the correct note when required. Knowing the scale and understanding music theory will help with visualising the note in the mind before aiming to produce it, always a bonus with wind instruments. Progress with wind instruments does go much quicker though if there's someone more experienced playing the same intrument. They'll provide real time examples of how it's done, answer questions (hopefully) and inspire progress. Hope that helps
Sound advice, thanks. Will pass this on also
21. So my daughter comes home from Air Cadets the other night with a flute. She's in the marching band and has been banging away on a drum but her logic is "it'll be easier to march with a flute!" She can't actually play one (although she can make some flute-like noises!) but her brief was to see if she could figure it out as there is no-one else there who knows how to play one, let alone teach her! If there are any BC'ers who have any hints or tips or could point us to an internet or other resource that might give her a fighting chance I/we would be most grateful........... Thanks in anticipation..... Andy
