We've brought our (late germinating) tomatoes indoors because it is uncommonly cold for them at this stage of development despite being in a grow-house outside.  There wasn't room for my Peppadew seedlings.  They are still outside taking their chances beneath upturned glass jars.  I fear we'll lose them anyway.

Reluctantly, I've switched the central heating back on 

During Winter we run a range and central heating.  I turned the range off, as usual for the warmer weather, a couple of weeks ago.  The CH is running almost constantly now.  I'm on the edge of a decision to turn the range back on for a couple more weeks!

I'm seriously considering reinstating the chimneys for a couple of wood burners at either end of the house.

Frankly I don't understand popularity.  I'm a bit Sheldon on that one.  The few times that people have put me forward because of something they've seen in me, I've usually felt stifled by the extra attention.

Trying to update my sig, but cant find my feedback, as the search function doesn't work, and I don't fancy scrolling through hundreds of pages to try and find it, can the search function be set up to search for names under the different pages, like it used to? (It used to give option of searching on the subject you were on, or on the wider forum)

Yes, for two days, but it doesn't last until noon as the temperatures  are between 0 and 5... 

We had a lickle tickle's worth last night but its barely worth mentioning.  It was patchy frost for the most part 'round Derby.

Yep - second snowfall of the season up here above Halifax - I do live at 1,000 ft though so we've had snow 3ft deep in the garden in May before...

Glad that I'm only ever going to have to do this once.

First day I had a weird dog, clearly under the effects of Chemical Happiness, off her food then vomited what she had eaten.

Since then she hasn't been able to be let off a lead, she's not used to being kept on a lead, so I have a 18 month old puppy with pent up, frustrated energy unable to play with her (many) friends.

Greatest thing I have ever found to calm a dog down is a log burner! No not a lump of wood on the head chaps but the heat! Just had one installed and now all 4 of my dogs snooze away in front of it merrily! Might be a bit extreme for you though ?

I misread "ballgag" and did myself a slight mischief!  I hope you're happy now.  I've just been arrested in ALDI.
