I use Hard Rock Cafe drawstring bags to keep cables in.

Bought a bass which arrived with 2x sets of screw holes from thumb rests. Is there a better method than using (the correct colour) wax crayons melted into the holes?

I have an Ashdown Evo11 180w at home. Perfectly adequate as a practice amp with good tonal palette (and brilliant Customer service from Ashdown if required). I haven't used it in real anger but I would expect it to do what was required...it's an Ashdown after all. They sell for around £100...great VFM IMO

Browsing through eBay and I found a couple of sets of strings by the same company, Bryce. After reading the front packaging I got to wondering " I wonder what's the difference". VC Fretless Status Kingbass ACG Harlot SC GB Rumour '96 Musicman Ray Jaydee 11 Supernatural ...and I've no doubt that I'll regret selling my old green Overwater which I sold, bought back and sold again recently - even though it spend most of it's life in a case.

The choice of "good basses" in your price range is a probably the best it's ever been. As mention above, in "the good old days", "cheap" meant poorly made. Now you can pick up good basses for virtually nothing - the list is extensive - Revelation, HB, Yamaha, Sire, Squier, ad infinitum. If I was starting over again I too would be overwhelmed with what to buy - lots of recommendations for most of this gear - just a case of choosing one and jumping in.
